During gameplay, someone send me chinese messages (thru /tells), knowing I can read chinese text. But the messages I received are in square-boxes. How do I read chinese texts? How do I send chinese texts? A player from Unrest-server. I'm using english window-xp.
In Windows, I believe you would need to first have the east language fonts set in your regional settings in Control panel and possibly add the chinese language IME into your language settings.For Eq2 switch your client version to chinese, which should give you the access to readable version of Chinese and the chinese IME. It will probably re-download the game into a separate folder, which will be around 14GB download. Maybe ask CS as well to make sure that my reasoning is sound before proceeding or ask one of your chinese friends what version of the EQ2 client they are using..
I doubt there is anything you have to do in eq2 to enable support for foreign characters, be it german, russian or in this case chinese ones, everyone loves shortcuts and soe devs are no exception, so I'd bet support for foreign characters relies entirely on windows.
