I like this. I have faked dark wood panelling using the backs of pictures on occasion (a pristine linen picture and many others),

How about the wall mirror and wash basin from a Maj'Dul Residence, and some of the carpets are sweet, too.

I've just realized that I've never answered, my apologies!

And no, the curtains don't stay closed, I tried again today, snif...

And still asking for tapestries :

Really, as others suggested, it would look great in many other colors too, such as a deep green for Brewday, white for frostfell, a true deep bloody red just because, ect.

Drat...was hoping. Oh well; it's taken all this time for the Frostfell trees to stay put, maybe the curtains staying put will be the next thing to tackle, items-wise. ;)

And yeah, that Crimson Fire Tapestry would be awesome in other colors; the "true deep bloody red" could be for NotD, along with the black version and maybe an orange as well; harvest/horror colors. ;->

Just plain, simple, one color per tapestry for each holiday would indeed be awesome, though I might suggest the white for Frostfell could be kind of ever-so-slightly bluish, like an "ice white," only without any glacial cracks, etc. in it...

And speaking of simple: can we please, please, please get the silly "you need a light source to see the design on a tapestry!" giant flame thing OFF of the Tapestry of the Steam Lord? Please? There's a perfectly fine simple wooden dowel rod hanger thing (looking at it again, two pieces, actually, but just make it one piece; what's the harm?) just below the silly brazier area, and there's no pattern on that tapestry. X-P Just ditch the brazier thing on the top, move the attachment point to the middle of that lovely wooden stick, and we can then be even more flexibly creative with it. :)

Or give us two versions, with the simpler one being called "Tapestry of the Steam Peasant" or something. ;->

True-Flat lots of different sizes to build on would be neat.

also please enjoy my paint.exe mockup.

Not a bad idea, but I worry about the scale of the height of the "grass" area; if it's too high, you'd still have the issue of folks coming in to visit (or just you as the decorator making the mistake of logging out while still in the area) and them being loaded first, even before, perhaps, any "included default surfaces" over the "real" surface down below (the red line) and sinking up to their knees (or waists, for Small sorts) in the "grass" or "dirt" or whatever. Granted, all you usually have to do is hop up to get out of it and onto the "actual" surface, but it's a wee bit disconcerting. That "we're loaded first" thing does help those of us with older machines, though, I'll give it that... ;->

If I were a dev, I'd reduce the distance between the green line and the red by about half, if not 2/3. That should do it. :)

Good idea! And it wouldn't be dependent on whether or not Flora is on or off, right? :)

I've noticed this with various items in a house (Thurgadin to be specific) that I used ice tiles to create a slightly raised floor - the pets I put in & some, though not all of the various casino game items placed on them sink to the non-tile floor. Why some do & some don't, I've no idea, but the issue kind of slammed the brakes of trying to actually decorate that house with what I had in mind.

Hey all! Are there other wishlist posts created over the past several years that you would like added to the OP of this post? :)
  9. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

    Errrrr.....probably? :-/

One thing I've always loved about this is that on occasion, we have gotten stuff from it that the Powers have made for us! :D So thanks for all the hard work in maintaining it, and all the entries from everyone! :)

Though I think the dividing of the subject into categories also helps a lot... :)

    Last derail, I promise... ;->

I was looking at something similar with my "Nile in the desert sand" kind of thing, when I finally bowed to the inevitable and just arranged things where anything placed on the "sand dunes" would actually be in a "valley" and on just a single, barely higher than the original floor "re-skin" with Sandy tiles. :-/

Well, at least in the design; haven't actually finished it yet...

I think with Polished Ice tiles, you might do something similar, but maybe "re-skin" the floor with Snowy Tiles or White Marble Tiles or something to get the ice/snow effect, but not raise them very high up at all. I agree, not the best of solutions. :-/

(And how the heck were you able to post on the Forums after the worlds went down this morning? I kept on getting redirected to the old station.sony.com page, which of course doesn't exist any more...even when I was trying to log into the SUPPORT page... They finally realized something was wrong and just put up the "Oopsie, heh-heh, we're not here right now, but we'll be back! :D" kind of placard from DBG. X-P)

    Last derail? Reeeaally? ROFL

The problem with the Thurgadin house was that I was trying to make a floor the 'removed' the sunken sections of the main area, so that the whole space had a floor that was a single plane. I placed the tiles just fine, so they are every-so-slightly below the higher rim parts, creating a border around the tiles. It actually looks pretty good, and if I could figure out how to stop things sinking through the tiles in those sunken areas I'd probably dive back into that house.

Would you accept that I was able to login & post during downtime just because I'm a very magical Micro-Gnome? :p LOL

Heh! Probably... I'm still jealous (how long did it take this time? The full 7 hours? Less? More?). ;->

And last derail of this thread, hopefully... ;->

Hey, devs: requested item for the Wishlist...a way to make sure placed house items don't sink through anywhere. Maybe like an Anti-Grav whatever that the Gnomes could come up with? :)

Maybe a layer of tables set just below the lip, then the tiles over that?
    Breanna and Uwkete-of-Crushbone like this.
  14. Morukta The ORIGINAL Micro-Gnome

That might work, but it would lose the appearance I was going for as I used the ice tiles that are semi-transparent vs the light/dark tiles. I wanted to create the single-plane, but not lose the look of the floor that the house has.

What about the Pedestal tables made of Ice for the New Halas City Festival? They might be transparent or "lost" due to ice tile cancellation of particle effects?

That's an interesting idea that might work, actually.
A side note - I went into that house yesterday to play around (put my pool tables back out from the moving crate), and was actually surprised that not one item seemed to have fallen below the tiles. I'm going to test it again by moving a couple of the pets off the perimeter areas and onto the tiles and already put the pool tables back out. If the balls are floating when I go back in, I'll know it's still a problem. LOL

Could we please have the Coldain Summoning Crystals from the Prayer Shawl (What Dreams May Come) quest available on the Shady Dealer.
  18. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

They aren't? :-/ What if you messed up the quest (if a quest can be messed up, rest assured, I've probably done it)? :-/ Or are these possible house items, and it'd be cool to have them available as such separately once we finish? :)

I was wondering if we could have triangular shaped roof tiles, and some triangular wall modules with a small window.
    Uwkete-of-Crushbone and Breanna like this.
  20. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

About the only way we can do that now is kind of with the Triangle "Tiles" (= Blocks, but at least they'll lie flat politely [just DON'T try to ask them to become a right triangle...]), sort of. But yeah, I'd love one type of those to be at least made with the cut-outs like we have for Narrow and Tall Dividers. :) Shouldn't be any harder than the "holes" they've already made; just take a regular Triangle Tile and punch a square or rectangular opening in it. :)
