    Hello,
Cyrrena suggested that I post my idea here even though I made a thread for the idea.

I would like to be able to have a farm where we can plant and sell crops. This would be a good way to make money!

Here are some things I would like with the farming feature:
    • A machine that turns harvested crops into seeds. (This feature was in Free Realms.)
    • Farm animals as cosmetic pets.
    • Member only crops.
I think people will like these features.

    Thank you,
    Wilowsong.

What would the crops do? Be house items (which would be cool! :D), or like food/drink consumables? And "money" as in, in-game currency, or...?

Ooh that's a good idea. It would be awesome to grow food! :) Yes, I'm talking about in-game currency. (Plat, gold, silver and copper.)
  7. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

Either way, house items (my fave!) or consumables, would be cool...I'm also a huge fan of double-duty items, like weapons that can be converted into house items once you're done with them. So, if you have any leftover consumables, turn 'em into house items... :D

a bit punchy from lack of sleep, but actually liking the garden idea seriously, no worries :)

    I definitely like that idea.

I would like to see the gardening with both items, house and consumable. Some plants could be converted into house items, some could be eaten. They could take this and run with it, make a hybridization system, similar to reforging where you can take 2 plants and make an entirely new plant.
  10. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

Ohhh, that would be cool! :D

Better collections to complete after PoM. PoM didn't have all that great house items and the collections that I could see were more geared towards getting gear LOL...

I sent this in via the in-game /feedback feature a few weeks ago, and I also posted it in the EQ2 Homeshow BookFace group, where it got quite a few positive responses. Thought I would post it here as well to see what folks thought.

    /feedback
    Summary: Player housing features
Housing customization is a huge part of EQ2's draw for many players. Three features that would be *greatly* received by the decorating community:
    • Ability to customize zone music. We would very much like to set the mood for our homes with music chosen from the game's music library. Or be able to set a zone to have no music at all if we wish. Music is such a vibrant aspect of EQ2, and we'd love to pull from that to serve as part of our creations and eliminate situations when the music does not suit our design concepts thematically.
    • Z coordinate persistence between logins. We really, really want to be able to camp between characters or log back in and find our character standing on the false floor so many of us build for one reason or another. Finding our characters embedded or even under our floors is extremely frustrating, especially for players who zone slowly. They have to exit the housing zone, load the exterior zone, and then load the housing zone again. Player characters should remember at what height they camped out.
    • Ability to customize spawn point for entering player-housing. This would open up so many possibilities with our creations. It is often frustrating when the spawn point is somewhere awkward or difficult to build around. It would be fantastic to be able to define where players will appear when entering a home, especially when we'd like to build a false, raised floor at the entrance.
Thanks for reading! Really enjoying the game!

    TOOOOOOOCK! Dude! You're back! :D

    Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about...

Don't be such a stranger for so long next time! :D

Oh, you had a post, too... ;->

Yeah, amen, especially the Z-position bit. In a way, I can understand why they'd want to be able to have us zoning in before any added items (beyond what's already there, default-wise, of course); I'm sure I myself bent their ears about zoning in issues long ago until they got tired of it. ;-> On the other hand, heck, it wouldn't matter if we had to hover for a bit, as long as we didn't get trapped. :-/

As far as the background music goes, we do have the Option of turning it off entirely, but that's for everywhere. All or nothing, for now. :-/

I'm not sure how that third suggestion could be implemented; would it be something the decorator/owner would establish? Could it be a separate item, like the teleport pads are now? Set it where the default position set by the game is now, and poof, after a brief period of "no, you didn't actually see this, move along" you go to the "real" entrance? Or the placed or programmed or however placed point gets "looked at" by the game as the visitor is zoning in, and is shifted accordingly to that specified coordinate?

As for me, the more big projects/in-depth projects/complicated projects/etc. that I find myself doing, I'm beginning to agree more and more with Tenchigirl (I think she was the one to suggest it): we really could use a slider for each axis of movement on the Ctrl+E Decorator Mode thingee that comes up. Not just up and down the Z axis, but also sliders for the X and Y axes as well.

A friend of mine, just the other day mentioned that he would love to be able to move the zone in point in some of his homes. I was thinking, maybe an option if you right click the portal inside the house to perhaps move it to one of a few specified places in the home that DBG would establish. Or perhaps make foyers or something that would hide the portal. Maybe DBG could move the portals into a nearby wall or something or make them invisible. For some reason it keeps popping into my head that the portal could be treated like the old Qeynos and Freeport apartments where we could change wall treatments and floors by right clicking on each and purchasing the various options.

Brilliant! Yeah, any/all of those could work, I should think...but then again, I'm not a dev. :-/

Hey, devs! Make it something we could buy on the Marketplace -- no, no, if I put it that way, it'll never happen...I'll just hush now.

With the introduction of waterfalls in the Chaos Descending expansion, I would like to see a tile with a ripple animation (assuming they are not already there) similar to the fog/cloud tiles sold in the Moonlight zones.

    OMG, WATERFALLS!!!

Y'know, come to think of it, I do think the water tiles (plain and sparkly) we have now might be something similar to the Misty tiles from the Moonlight Grottoes? I mean, they're completely clear, pretty much, and I could just be seeing things that aren't there, but it almost seems like the patterns and directions are the same?

And yeah, waterfalls are cool. :D

Still gonna wait 'til it's on sale in Sept. 2019... ;->

They are similar, yes, and it wouldn't be difficult to make a ripple animation with rings radiating out from a corner or edge. Rippling from the center would be more difficult, but an animation moving one direction is easy :).

I would love to see tiles with dirty, or muddy foot prints for nights of the dead. I'd also love to see a golden coffin, like King Tut's, not the box (sarcophagus, but what goes inside it. ) Would love to see tombs with working doors. Would also love to see some wallpaper in game. Victorian era type wallpaper tile. I'd also love to see a Frostfell pegasus next year, and an Erolisi pegasus. I loved my unicorns at lower levels. I miss them! Would also liked to see winged versions of the temporary unicorn mounts that you can get in moonlight enchantments, and also the gi's made permanent. Please? The city festivals haven't seen a heap of love lately, would be nice to see some new paintings, different designs on the paper lanterns, maybe some paper dividers so we can all turn Japanese =D I really think so! (hehehe) Also, the curtains that you can switch open and close, they've been out for a decade now, can we please have more colors than purple and white? I'd also like to see some better casual clothing for appearance items, new hair styles for my toons, A faucet you can turn on and off to put in your house, and a whistling tea kettle. It's fun to have interactive toys. Thank you for reading my wish list. =) Would also love an orange version of the forest assassin outfit. Maybe a fall motif?
