I would like to see a building block set of the red bricks from Qeynos. That should be easy to do, since the code exists already. Ealdian, Knight of Bayle Skyfire Server But you can call me Eli
I just updated the links in the OP to point at the correct threads. Didn't realize that the old links were no longer redirecting to the url change! They were going to do just that, but it involved real money, people got weird about it. Some of the decorators felt that their layouts would be copied and sold by other people, so they wanted a no-layout house that no one could copy, but no one could move anything in either, last I heard. Buyers wouldn't like that idea since they wouldn't be able to move any thing, so any other idea just got too complicated and it was given up on. IMHO, they shouldn't have ever involved real money. Plat would have been fine, and a lot less fight-worthy. A simple signature to a layout shouldn't have been too hard to implement, but would probably be removable in client side code (Notepad). A change could be made to the "sold" house itself that makes it incompatible with any other house so it cannot be reused (although, still able to be worked around in client side code...)... so many different ways to handle it. :\ IIRC, "trading" heirloom/no-trade items was also a concern via placing the house item version and selling the house, so it was suggested that things in the house could be non-pickup (like Dungeon Maker decorations). People were against not being able to pick up what they bought with the house (which is understandable. I might buy a house just for a statue I want to put in another house! lol I've been dying to get my hands on one of the Japanese original collector's edition Nagafen statues! I also missed out on the Beckett Magazine version. >.<) I doubt they will revive the project, since there are fewer people at the HQ now than before and they have their hands full with content that keeps the larger part of the population coming back for more. You know all the non-decorators (which do out number us) would go on a gripe fest if we got anything cool like selling real estate. >.<
Would be cool if we could have a house item version of the Jumjum fountain from the Tower of the Drafling. Looks like this : http://eq2.zam.com/db/quest.html?eq2quest=bc73a69d9c05fa0cce27250a738d5782 or it could be made a chocolate fountain ? hehe
If at all possible I would love to have some simple lengths of rope as well as some coiled ropes We have a few items in game that we decorators use to make things look like they are dangling from rope but all of them have huge things attached to the ends Like the Sathirian skull trophy for instance which can be crafted or the New Combine hanging lantern which is a quest reward .Sometimes these can work with a lot of effort but most often not since you cannot always hide whats on the end of the rope or sometimes the rope has a swaying animation that spoils the effect we are trying to achieve . I am sure many other decorators would appreciate it if you could either give them to us as recipes or make them available on loyalty merchant or if not there then on the marketplace . Thank you for all for your continued efforts to make the game one we all love to play
I've been begging for the coiled rope for years. There's even a /a code you can find on Zam and paste in game to view different ropes, so I guess they were made, just never made available. They did give us the horseshoe recently though, and it was one of the "you can view it but you can't get one" items from Zam for a looooong time, so there is hope for rope. ^_^
I wish they'd add another room onto the Vale prestige home, I think it's two existing rooms are nice but another one would be fantastic. I wish they'd make available all the little halfling style furnishings from the various halfling homes in game. There is a counter and sink, and some cute benches and stoves. I've wanted that double wide stove since I saw it. More metal tiaras and less floating glowy ones. Another tree house. The first one was so popular. I really adore mine. Another color for the far seas pegasus. Grey, brown, or black would be great. LoN art pictures for our homes. This may be way too much to ask but some more choices for city home walls floors and such.
Yes, there is a coiled rope in a dungeon (I forget what the dungeon is called now, the one in Moors of Ykesha towards the back end of the zone). There are also a number of statues in game that have not been made available as house items that I'd love to see, too. There are a good number of smaller structures that could be made into pre-fab structures for our home decorating use. So much already existing decor that would be so easy to just turn into house items...so little work for the devs and so much love for us decorators. Even building blocks that have been used to create dungeons...that might take a bit more work to create for us, but it already exists in game, so it wouldn't have to be done from scratch. So much potential for new 'crafted recipes', loyalty merchant items, quest rewards, plunderables, and even marketplace items.
Could we please have some more real light giving lights? I use those grob golden lantern ones sunk all in deco when I work in a dark house or one with meh lighting. So many of our lights aren't light sources.
The sconces you get from Tower of Frozen Shadow quests give off a really nice light too. Unfortunately, the quest given by the girl spectre in the darkened area below the mesh floor can only be done once. Wish they would make this quest infinitely repeatable. :/
Aw, instance, schmistance; I've always found the really uber-super-duper basic Pristine Simple Candelabra, the very first thing crafters are called upon to make in the tutorial, surprisingly bright! Their main problem is that they're so tall, it would be hard to "sink" them without losing the base/anchor point below the floor. Any quest that gives out house items ought to be infinitely repeatable, amen! And what are the "golden lantern ones" that Avahlynn speaks of? Something you get from Grobb faction? Haven't heard of 'em, but I haven't done too many Moors faction quests yet; mostly just with Uwk, and he's almost the "wrong" crafter type, being an Armorer. ;-> Uwk who seems to recall at least some of the light descriptions saying whether they give off a "bright light" or only a "gentle glow," but isn't sure if all of them do that... :-/
She is indeed speaking of the ones you get from faction recipes in Moors of Ykesha. They are really nice lamps. I used some in Adelyna's home that I decorated for the Maj'dul Frostfell house swap, on the balcony area of the Dhalgar Precipice home, near the mystical garden I made.
Bolded for emphasis because yes please, make more furniture and deco item quests repeatable, please please. Even just five times. Or ten. Because of the: Beautiful lamp from the Mara questline. Because of the little yellow fae chair with the rounded back and seat. Because boots from the race quest from Antonica to the Feerot. Because some stuff looks best when you can use it abundantly. Matching lamps. A lot of little chairs around a table. A closet with shelves of boots.
Absolutely! If they can make "clear" stuff (Vamp Mirrors of both sorts, water tiles of various sorts, ice stuff that is almost completely see-through), why not more of it? If we can't actually have the windows "cut out" a hole in a wall to the other side, like in Landmark, at least we can make our own walls, etc. and put in clear, pre-made windows (though I still have a soft spot in my head for the Vamp Mirrors, they can be a wee bit cludgey at times). ;-> Uwk
Windows sans floating objects would be great. Sometimes you don't want snow/cogs/what have you floating all about the view. Though I am finishing an outdoor cold storage house and the blue tinkered windows worked well (I think, anyway) for the freezer panels inside.
I would like for them to put merchants so that you can purchase the house items from after completing quest lines. They could do it for completing a zone if they want, once the entire zone is done, you can use the merchant.
