I mean th e game is not just tank does everything for Agro anymore there are things called communication. Troub illy corc. And dps actually clicking defaults and letting you know when burst is incoming etc. you act like it’s rocket sirnce to hold Agro. I’m not saying I don’t lose it but you get so many snaps and a force target of the fight is only 15 sec long you should not lose it as any tank. Maybe your groups need more DMg?
I'm talking about zerkers that don't have any gear so their dps sucks, since that's where the argument started. My wizard is Magmag. I'm 100% sure you don't outparse me as an illy, especially after I get my toon from IoR for orange adorns tomorrow. But what exactly are you trying to prove here? You trying to call me bad, for a reason unbeknownst to me, has nothing to do with this thread. I feel like you just wanted a chance to tell people how much you parse. I can assure you I press the buttons real good, so attacking my skill is not only pointless, but kind of dumb too. Edit: Oh, I see. The person originally arguing with me is a guildmate of yours so you're trying to undermine my credibility and back him up. Nice try, but swing and a miss amigo. Get all your friends to come in here to agree with you too if you want. That doesn't make you or your friend right.
Not guildie same person sorry to tell you and i am not bring this into my parse or skill i am saying that there is ways to hold agro off high dpsers without being in good gear it takes help but its possible.
Happy Holidays Nan, sorry we didn't run into each other in beta, the past expacs were fun comparing notes while reporting bugs.
I see HP isn't talked about, or I missed it. I have full MC gear, refined, and all but one is Visionary focused on STA. I AA focused on mit and health and defense, and I barely scratch that 17M mark. No Epic 2.0, no PG adorns (did Panda tho). So I get laughed out of T1 heroics due to my HP...no questions asked. So I gotta do Epic 2.0 and/or PGs just for T1? http://u.eq2wire.com/soe/character_detail/2602774890943 Any advice here?
http://u.eq2wire.com/item/index/3149734890 would bring at least 15% health and maybe you are able to get some of these crafted for you http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Planar_Adornment_of_Health_(Crafted) too, that should boost your hp a bit. The Adornment of health is similar to the PG one
You need to reforge into more hate mod. You need every edge there. I'd grab the doublecast cloak and belt myself. YMMV. You really should put the work in for your epic. You are asking a group to invest in spending time with you, don't insult them by not putting in the time to get ready. I personally don't believe in PUGs, I believe in nuclear groups of 4-5 people who can pick up and carry anyone as a 5th/6th for flexibility. To be fair to these people you need to be ready to go- have your adorns, your food, your snacks, you deity buffs, your epic, your potions, your signets, your temp adorns- every little thing to give you that edge. Don't just show up and expect others to run you through stuff. That sucks in a healer or DPS but it REALLY sucks for a tank.
I've started 2.0, but being I 100 baubled this zerker (coming back after an absence since AoM), it's gonna take awhile. I'm moving towards the zerk being my main, away from the Templar. SteveB - good tips, thx.
While I agree with your analysis I'd say you're pushing too hard there. The hate mod should be at 100% (I'm not aware of zones that debuff it and that's the cap). Otoh, you need to be aware there are strats that cause memwipe... notably the "Turn Key" moment on the Collector in Masks Heroic. Any mob that roots, just assume it has memwiped. If there is a coercer, ask them to memwipe the mob and cast a reordering of hate - if they can - just after the root. Not sure what other classes have a direct memwipe... Swashy has the dice thing which has been upgraded recently, but it works best if they are the current hate target and that's tough for a Swash. The work into epic is of course nothing anyone is skipping on purpose. But I don't think people should refuse a call for a tank just because they don't have it yet. And it's not insulting to say "I'm available, no epic though." Let them decide. Watching the mobs "looking around for a fighter" is not fun for the group either. Not that it doesn't happen even WITH a tank who is not a raider, but at least the group is aware of the issue and can all group cast a threat debuff to give the mob back. Everyone's putting in the time to get ready. That's the point. The grinds are making that even more difficult than it has ever been. And meanwhile we're hearing a lot of mularkey about how we "don't need" epic 2 this expac. Perfect ground for the community tearing itself to bits because of the disinformation = cognitive dissonance = unfocused aggression mechanic of human nature. New stuff that helps that I've seen: *snacks *temp adorns I assume the OP already knows of potions, signets, etc. One thing that has severely hurt people who are attempting to work on their tanks now and bring them out of the "alt" category into the "ready for heroic" category is the sunset on the Tithe system. My warlock has more Stamina tithe than my tank. Because since last expac, he is my main. There's nothing anyone can do about that. That's just ... wrong. To the OP: another thing I'd mention to you is, infuse! many of my items have been replaced and I haven't infused as much yet on Markab. But look at the Epic weapon, I've infused it a lot. Most of the time, I can push 300-400 extra stamina into an item by infusion. Sure I spend 20-30k per item. That's what Krono is for, well for me. There are also more infusers in KA solos than in PoP, not because of numbers but because of time. In two hours I can finish all of them, and do the whole weekly there. It takes me all day in PoP. So for sheer number of "free" infusers, revisit the old stuff. Also, I noticed with delight that I can keep experimenting on things even after I have worn them. Make a schedule to get to at least innovative (stamina) with all of them. That said, and adding the planar adornments book options and the temp adorns mentioned already, it might help a bit. But PGs is still there if you want to add more to it. I ran with a tank about a week ago who didn't know the zones, had to have all the strats explained, and had to be told how much to pull at once. Nobody gave him sass about it. It's new content. He isn't a mind reader.
most issue is players dont know how to get good item, good infus, good spec, good reforge etc. expansion seem easy if u be smart. good luck
Thanks for the good advice. I've been working PGs with my zerker and two alts at least once a day. I am 16k into the third faction, so soon I'll have that achievement down. Definitely hearing y'all. So yea...I'm getting there. It's just too many large timesinks. What was the point or the 100 bauble? I mean, I know what the marketing ploy was...but with TS in the home it's in, folks that vused that bauble are in a deeper hole if that's the too they want to main with...or came back after a few years or expacs off Thx again for the good advice. I'll be using it.
yeah the lvl 100 adventure bauble is a false friend. ok u got a lvl 100 toon (but that's only the begining). Since u need all requirements for epic 2. for the orange runes, at least now u can get the lvl 5 without grinding PG (u just need the transmuting materials, i's a long run, but it's stuff from this xpac at least) now u also have white adorns. sooooo ... you'll still need to work a lot on toon and have a harder start but it seems more and more stuff are becoming avail for u to catch up just in this xpac. Only the epic 2 is really missing.
On the topic of timesinks... that is what the game is. I'm pretty sure that is what it is intended to be. If you run out of things to do in the game, that kind of sucks. I'm pretty happy with this expansion so far in that there is ongoing stuff to do, even without raiding, you get geared from heroics, you get mats from heroics, you get recipes, you break stuff down to craft top end stuff, and if you are insane you can even get the mount. The weeklies are a steady stream of extra stuff for gearing faster or gearing alts. I agree some timesinks are more painful than others- PG grind for instance. But that can now be sidestepped if you get enough materials and the right recipes. Even the epic isn't mandatory, though I think it would be a mistake not to take the time to get it. The 100 bauble saves you some grind, that's all. Just as well it doesn't hand you everything because if it did you STILL wouldn't know how to play your class without spending time, playing your class.
I definitely agree with this. Commitment to the class you play is vital. How that happens is mostly out of my control because it's decided by others. Even with all the issues, the overall enjoyment is still present. Discussing the issues, giving each other tips, is an act of hopefulness.
