After reading all the complaints (not constructive feedback which is good) and pessimism on these boards, I thought I would voice my gratitude towards the dev team. I'm sure this will get flamed....don't really care.

Devs - Thank you for the new expansion. I enjoy the renewed vigor, however short lived, that comes with new expansions. New overland zones, raid zones, heroic and solo dungeons, questlines, prestige abilities, levels, and green adornments are all things I'm enjoying exploring.

Yes, I know that SOE created this expansion to make money. Motivation for profit is not mutually exclusive of motivation to provide me with an enjoyable product. The fact is they could have just raised the level cap to 95 without any additional content, and half the people would have still bought the expansion just to be "the best"

    As for the common complaints:

Price - $40 seems a reasonable price for 100+ hours of entertainment. If it's a bad value to you, then don't buy it. If you don't have $40 of disposable income - log off these forums, update your resume, and get a new/2nd job.

Veteran Bonus - Thanks to the Dev team for giving us a free ride on the last expansion. For the people who complain that it was raised (as it should have been before), you're the ungrateful kinds of people who get something free and then expect it moving forward. I've seen this attitude in every business I've been involved in, and it still fails to amaze me - even in a game.

Solo Quest Line - It's long. It's boring. It's 1000 times better than grinding 50K faction! Time sinks are a part MMO's. At least my time is not being sunk into logging on, shouting for an SS faction group for 2 hours, and then logging off.

I know being positive on a forum is as taboo as being positive in life in general. Oh well. Just an opinion from a happy EQ2 player.

I agree. The game is awesome. The expansion has many more things we can do to enhance our gameplay. And sadly, it seems there is very little positive going on in these forums...

Agreed, too many complaints and not enough compliments. Thanks for all of your hard work in making a game many of us love to play and get away to.

Its a game, its meant to be fun. If its stressing you out, you should probably find a different hobby or at least step away and take a break for a while.

Belittleing other people isn't exactly being positive...

Go over to the GW2 forums and have a read their for 5 minutes if you want to see negative, this is nothing.

Pinktonya - You are correct. Perhaps I should have said that I was being positive about the expansion or the game in general. There are people and player's attitudes that can upset me. I'm sure this is true for all of us.

The truth is that I struggle understanding how someone can play video games for hours and hours, but complain they can't afford afford $40. I think their priorities may be a bit skewed. Chances are if you can't afford a $40 game, you probably are struggling to make rent, buy food, or participate in charitable giving. In either case, their time would be better spent working on additional sources of revenue. This is very different from someone who thinks the expansion isn't worth $40. I disagree about the value, but it's a valid viewpoint. For them I say don't buy it.

I also get upset with people who aren't grateful for what is given....even if it's a veteran's bonus at 90 when the cap was 92.

    Good post.

I've not made up my mind how good the expansion is yet. I've only done a few quests on the signature line but I'm happy knowing I have a fair amount of content to do still, not that I've been struggling to do something in 3 years since I started the game.

    You're kidding right ;)

I soloed GW2 from level 0 to 80 in around 3 weeks. In all that time I've needed to report 3 bugs, that's right 3! All of them were fixed within 24 hours during a patch.

I come back here for one last chance to be met with CoV which still doesn't work, countless claimed fixes which turn out not to be, completely illogical pathing (still), bugged mobs, quests which can't be completed, a single long and boring questline, a single L&L and (woopeedoo) a new collection quest. Not to mention the lag and waits to zone (again). I recently did an event in GW2 where 100+ people fought a dragon that spawned - no lag, no hassle, no kill stealing, no empty chests.

I sometimes wonder whether you people that come here singing the praises of this shower have ever played anything else.

I'm not go have a read, they are losing their minds.

This game is great compared to the fall thru the earth game Vanguard and the money grabbing Runes of Magic.
I have played many many games and this game is awesome.

The point being made here is that, we love this game and want to praise the developers for working hard to keep it fun. It really is the only good game out there that I have played where you have housing, good crafting systems, and fun character variety along with mucho depth.

I have friends who left GW in a week because NO DEPTH, NO HOUSING, NO FUN.

Just a breath of fresh air here for a game we love instead of the constant bashing we have been seeing.

I've been on the forums and seen the threads myself. It surprises me but I'm absolutely serious, I've not seen the problems they are talking about and nor have the 200+ people in the guild I'm in.

I have friends playing as well and they tell me they love it but that forums is truly a mess compared to this one.

I myself am also happy with expansion , I paid 29.99 for it cause I have all access , the only thing I am disliking is how much I am dying in the new solo instances just wish there was a option to do a solo non advanced version . I am lvl 95 but still have alot to do to keep me busy until they launch a content patch in the next year :)

I'm undecided. On the plus side, once again the art time has raised the bar and turned out spectacular looking zones and mobs. For me, if I can't stand the look of what I am playing I'm not playing it for long.

But there are some issues. I hate the way all the dungeons were gated by progress on the Sig questline. The thing that feels wierd is that you have to do all these solo timesink quests to get to a step that sends you into the dungeon. These quests are not group friendly. (Fear touched tree limbs, all the use a bauble at xx% of a mob's health, Etc...) Now once you get to a stap of needing an instance, you can then build aa group to do the zone (Which I admit only came to me just this second, so shame on me for doing these solo) .

I withhold judgement on raids since I won/'t be doing any of them until the weekend, but I'm not optimistic in seeing much that won't be steamrolled based on Beta feedback

I'm not happy with the expansion (and don't own it), but the quests should all work and there's at least 12 collections in expansion. We did do our testing job seriously in beta and quest devs were highly responsive!

I have :) I played GW 6 years about as long as I've been here. I've played Aion and Wow. I waited 5 stupid long years for that hash of GW2 I forked out $150 for collectors for nothing.

Yes EQ2 has issues but it is still better than all the rest :D and yes I bought the EQ2 expansion

GW, GW2, LOTRO, WoW, Conan, EVE, COH, COV, Runes of Magic, Forsaken World, STO, SWTOR, Planetside, Vanguard, Pirates,

Always end up back here - there is so much to do, so many quests, progression, housing, crafting, socialising.. I never log on and think "ugh, there's nothing to do" I don't seem to experience any of the bugs with COV, used it loads and its never failed (I must be just lucky).

The only one I haven't mentioned above is SWG.. which I would sell my own mother to get back into :D

I'm interested, if its such a "shower".. why bother?
