This guide is a work in progress. If you notice something that needs correction or if you have new information to contribute please don't hesitate to post. =) Anyone of any class can do these quests apparently. Everyone starts out the same by doing quests for Master Irudan Ortai and Master Akuno Beslin. At this point things branch off a little. Citizens of Qeynos continue the quest series by doing quests for Shu Fang Qiand will receive Ashen Order faction from completing quests, while Citizens of Freeport do quests for Shing Ho and recieve Ashen Disciple faction. The first three quests given by Shu Fang Qi and Shing Ho are the same. Beginning with the fourth quest the quest names indicate for which faction one is working. (Thanks to Etayn for posting this information.) **Spoiler!** The final reward for this quest series is a Suffix title. Questing for the Ashen Order rewards you with "the Jade Tiger" while questing for the Ashen Disciples rewards you "the Ebon Dragon."Master Irudan Ortai is at +348 –190 –1605, next to a cliff wall on the island north of T’Narev. Quest: Aiding the Disciples Faction Prerequisite: DubiousKill 10 Windsister Jaggedfeathers Kill 10 Windsister Dustfeathers These mobs are all solo encounters Return to Master Irudan Ortai. Reward: 5000(?) Ashen Disciples faction (5000 Ashen Order faction according to Dananeb) Master Akuno Beslin is at +210 –81 –1415, in T’Narev at one of the campsites on the western side. Quest: Learning the Ashen Way Faction Prerequisite: DubiousFirst part of the quests: Kill 10 Scorpions Kill 10 Sabertooths These mobs are solo encounters and can be found in the “Remnants of Lifire†area just west of the Ortallian Encampment. Return to Master Irudan Ortai. Second part of the quest: Meditate at mat after sunset. The meditation mat is at +430 –192 –1583. You can click it to meditate. Return to Master Irudan Ortai. Reward: 8500 Ashen Order faction according to Dananeb Shu Fang Qi is at +215 –89 –1315, outside T’Narev along the cliff wall on the western side of T’Narev. She stand behind a cactus located near a door set into the wall guarded by two Ashen elite monks. She gives quests for Qeynosians. Shing Ho is at +338 -140 -1415, outside T'Narev on the cliff overlooking the sea. He gives quests for Freeportians. 1st Quest: Sandscrawler Debacles Faction Prerequisite: DubiousKill Guerilla Lorkil. Guerilla Lorkil is a 55^ named solo mob Triggered spawn at +347 –138 –1393, spawns when you near that point. Return to quest giver Reward: 8500 faction 2nd Quest: Of Scribes and Sentries Faction Prerequisite: DubiousFirst part of quest: Deliver note to Fai Long Fai Long is at +273 –81 –761, just west of the Ortallian Encampment Second part of quest: Find and investigate the remains of a monk nearby. Skeleton is at +293 –107 –729, just down hill from Fai Long, at the source of a spring You will be ambushed by a level 56 solo encounter of specters when you choose the option to “pick up the scroll†from the skeleton. Return to quest giver. Reward: 8500 faction 3rd Quest: Fallen from Beauty Faction Prerequisite: (Dubious?)First part of quest: Deliver note to Jin Li Jin Li is at 1557 –117 -1196, standing on the rocks overlooking the sea west of the Sun Spire Second part of quest: Kill Erilis Windsister and the rest of her encounter Erilis Windsister is part of a level 57 solo encounter. She spawns just east of Jin Li when you reach this point of the quest. Return to quest giver. Reward: 8500 faction 4th Quest: Service to the Order from Shu Fang Qi / Disciple Edicts from Shing Ho Faction Prerequisite: (Indifferent?)Various tasks are given to you at once. You will be given tasks to defeat 4 random types of mobs. If you don’t like the 4 types of mobs you need to slay, you can delete the quest and receive it again for 4 new random types. Shu Fang Qi gives this quest out to you over and over, giving you 1000 faction each time you complete it. Its believed that earning enough faction with Ashen Monks will open up new quests from the other named monks. Reward: 1000 faction 5th Quest: "Trials of Ash" from from Shu Fang Qi / "Proving Ground" from Shing Ho Faction Prerequisite: KindlySubmitted by: RyanTSi aka Lonno - 50 Monk -Permafrost- Various tasks are given to you at once. You will be given tasks to defeat 4 random types of mobs of higher level then the previous quest. If you don’t like the 4 types of mobs you need to slay, you can delete the quest and receive it again for 4 new random types. As soon as you accept the task of slaying the desert spirit, a 59^ solo spectre called “desert spirit†will spawn near Jiao Li Rong. Kill the spectre and return to Shu Fang Qi. (Original information submitted by: Keldoth) Once you get Warmly from Trials of Ash you are given a level 59 solo quest 'Strange Deliveries'. This quest takes you to Jin Li Fang (sp?) (correct name is Jiao Li Rong) near the great sabers. Talk to him, kill the lvl 59 spectre that spawns (1 up arrow, but I think its random), reward is +3000 Ashen Order. Reward: 3000 Ashen Order faction 7th Quest: "Diplomatic Liasons" from Shu Fang Qi and Shing Ho Deliver note to Gilp Jadefist Gilp Jadefist is in Eldar Grove at +793 -19 -405, on a rock in the pond northwest of the dojo. Return to Shu Fang Qi. (Original information submitted by: Keldoth) This requires you to go to Qeynos and talk to someone in the monk guild there (forget who). Return to Shu Fang Qi for +6500 Ashen Order faction. This puts you right at the edge of ally. (The Ashen Disciple version of this quest sends you to speak to Enforcer Drulk in Big Bend. -thanks to Gorag1) Reward: 6500 Ashen Order faction Diplomatic Liasons concludes Shu Fang Qi's line of quests. By this point you should have high warmly status with the Ashen Order. For further quests you need to speak to Zhao Wu. Zhao Wu is at +39 -56 -1188, in T'Narev next to Master Kiri. Quest: "A Split in the Ashen Order" from Zhao Wu / "Kufu's Intentions" from Shen Rai (9, -68, -1300) (Original information submitted by: Keldoth)Level 55 heroic. This is an instance below T'narev called 'The Caves of Knowledge'. The door to the Cave of Knowledge is at +93 -219 -1207. To get there, starting from the carpet waypoint at T'Narev, walk up to the cliff overlooking the ocean. Turn on invis and jump down into the sea. Swim along the edge of the cliff heading east towards Sinking Sands. You will find a cave opening at the water level along the cliffs. Enter this cave, follow it to the end and you will find two doors. One of those doors is the etrance to the Cave of Knowledge. Bring a full group (or invis) to talk to Kufu, Keeper of Knowledge at the end of the instance. Kufu, The Keeper of Knowledge is at +236 +2 +289 (The Ashen Disciple version of this quest requires you to walk through the Cave of Knowledge and right click an item near Master Kufu. -thanks to Gorag1) Return to Zhao Wu for +3000 (? forget) Ashen Order, 18 g and a choice of 3 items. Reward: 3000 Ashen Order faction, 18 gold and choice of 3 items (earring, leather gloves, rapier) A Split in the Ashen Order appears to be Zhao Wu's only quest. By this point you should have ally statues with the Ashen Order. For further quests you need to speak to Master Kiri. I believe you need max ally status to receive Master Kiri's quest. This will require you to kill Ashen Disciples. Master Kiri is at +41 –56 –1185, in T’Narev next to Zhao Wu. Quest: Learning the Way from Master Kiri (fixed, completable as of 11/09/05) First part of quest: Killing fifteen Ashen disciples Simply kill any 15 Ashen Disciples. Second part of quest: Speak with Jun Shan and complete the warm up task Enter the Cave of Knowledge instance “The Ashen Elite Training Grounds.†Jun Shan is at +181 0 +222, past the agro Ashen acolytes, past Master Lu Ree, next to the training dummy at the edge of the pond. Jun Shan says to punch the dummy till it breaks. You need to click it repeatedly quite a few times. Continue doing so until you get a journal update. Third part of quest: Speak with Lee Chen and complete the required meditation Lee Chen is at +194 0 +272, sitting on a meditation mat near the pond. Lee Chen says to meditate on the mat next to her (him?). Sit down on the mat next to Lee Chen for a few moments and you will receive a journal update. Fourth part of quest: Speak with T(can't remember full name) and learn to take a hit. T is standing next to the pond near the training dummy. Speak with T and she will "punch" you. (You take no damage though you are knocked back a ways.) Speak to T repeatedly until you receive the journal update. Fifth part of Quest: Return to Master Kiri to receive your reward. Return to Master Kiri, who congradulates you and bestows upon you the suffix title "the Jade Tiger." Reward: Suffix title "the Jade Tiger" (Original info submitted by: BrizaOrin) a new quest to do some tasks and enter Ashen elite training ground... Which however seems to be more of less buggy place, but aside from that. Can confirm that max faction indeed opens up new quest, and no - you dont need to be lvl 60 either. (Addendum from Activesoup) I got into elite training ground as well , at this point i m a bit clueless on what to do next. this seems to be a solo instance and is same entrance than hall of discipline and cave of knowledge.. First step inside need to hit a dummy until it explodes, stuck on next part which require to meditate near some guy , been sittin on mat for 15 20 min now , still no update edit : 5 solo 60 ^ mob at entrance, tried to kill them to see if that changed something , killed 2 of them and died on 3 rd ( am only 57 swashie p) . Had to revive out and then was unable to zone in anymore , no lockout just could not see option in instance choice. This appears to be the conclusion of the Ashen quest series. If anyone finds any way to do further quests for the Ashen Order please post such information here. =) Thank you to everyone that contributed to this guide and to everyone that sent in /bug reports to get the last quest fixed. The Disciples faction quests are exactly the same, except they are from Shung Ho (?), the bloke standing on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea.
Great work man! One thing I'd like to see is if there are any benefits to being at the various faction levels. Does it open up and instances? Do I get the Hat? etc.

Scrapper/disciple switch was an idea that never got off the desgin board. It isn't in and currently there are no plans to put it in.
Can't say for sure, but it seems very very likely. If you walk around in T'Narev (sp?) there are many NPC's which will say "Talk to me when you've proven yourself to the Asher Order" and such. Several also just call you a weakling that says they're a higher-lvl quest giver IMO. I'm hoping this is the quest series that will give the cool rice-patty hat... I had the same problem. Had another monk I was duoing the quests with. Got up to kindly and then they made it so the oranges owned us. I want a monk hat! :smileysad:
If I recall correctly, you are getting Ashen Order and Ashen Disciple factions mixed up. They are two separate factions and quests for each.
You're correct in that I didn't differentiate between the two in the guide, but thats not because I was mixed up but rather I didn't see the need to differentiate between them as you must proceed in a linear path through the Disciple quests to start doing the Order quests. I'll clarify which quests give which faction bonus though. I need help though; can everyone help me out by reminding me how much faction each of the quests give? Edit: Ok, maybe I'm having a little trouble remembering which quests gave how much faction and such, but you still have to proceed through the quests in a linear order as far as I know. After the Aiding the Disciples and Learning the Ashen Way quests, Citizens of Qeynos continue the quest series by doing quests for Shu Fang Qiand will receive Ashen Order faction from completing quests, while Citizens of Freeport do quests for Shing Ho and recieve Ashen Disciple faction. The first three quests they give are the same, and after that they appear to differentiate only in name. I wasn't aware of this when I initially replied to your post. Has anyone from Freeport been able to get this far along in the Ashen Order quests? I'm from Freeport and Shu Fang Qi will not talk to me even after doing both of the Master's quests. The only person I can talk to is Shing Ho, and he gave me Sandscrawler Debacles, Of Scribes and Sentries, Fallen from Beauty, and Disciple Edicts (repeatable). They have all given +Disciple faction and have the same description as this walkthru. Is it really the case that Order = Qeynos, and Freeport = Disciples? Or am I just missing some inbetween step somewhere? -56 inq on najena
if ur from freeport u need to find the disciple mobs not the order freeport and qeynos go their seperate ways pretty quickly into the quests

I'm also stuck on this part. I'm at ally faction and a level 60 monk. I hail master Kiri and he doesnt say anything. I tried looking all over the place even back to Kufu to see if he gvies out a quest but nothing.
All of the first 3 Shu Fang Qi quests yielded +8500 faction points to me. I havent completed her forth monotonous killing quest yet.
So, here we are. I've joined the ranks of those with Ally Ashen Order faction. I think I'm the only one on AB who's gotten to this point. I'm so bummed. So many other possibilities for more quests.... Let's hope that more are coming. After grinding all those solo quests, seriously, there should be more than this. :smileysad: -Ilina 55 and counting!
I am level 60 now and Master Kiri still does not speak with me. I experienced this also in the Court of the Coin with the NPC who says 'You are a worthy ally, but you must be more experienced.' until you are level 60. I went to him after killing some Coin guards for whatever reason, and was not max ally (although I was still confortably ally). He said nothing, hail returned zip, just like Master Kiri. I am considering killing some Ashen Disciples (although I don't wish to really) in order to raise my 'Ally' to 'Max Ally' and see if that helps. I will report back if it does. There really should be faction quests to allow you to get to this point, instead of resorting to killing disciples.
