Theme: The True Meaning of Frostfell

This years theme is based off of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". As the Grinch was creating his sleigh to steal Christmas from Whoville, he found that he created an accidental portal that transported himself into the world of Norrath! Although he's now in Norrath, the Grinch has noticed that Frostfell is everywhere and now wants to steal it!

- Your job is to create something that would show the Grinch what the true meaning of Frostfell is! Create a scene/house that would change his heart! The possibilities are endless!

We're looking for 9 Contestants on all 4 servers!

Rules

- Contestants are allowed 100 items, building blocks, and free books! You are allowed to use any type of item you wish, EXCEPT for Marketplace items. Marketplace outfits are accepted.

- For this year, I am keeping the same rule from the previous one. (Note: This rule may not stay for future neighborhoods). Please DO NOT use Layout Editor this year. You may use the ingame editor (decorator mode with the chair icon), but NO Layout Editor.

- Remember everyone is on a HONOR SYSTEM. This means you are sharing the house with other homeshow friends who are also decorating their lots for the event. Respect everyone's ideas/items. If you'd like (not needed), you may place a temporary wall around your lot.

- Additional rule info will be included in your contestant rule book. You'll be able to get this handy book when doors open!

- If you have signed up for this event and something has came up in RL and you need to back out, please reach out to your SO and GO. It would be sad to see you withdraw, but we also understand that RL comes first.

- If you have any questions, please be sure to contact your SO or GO. We'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Hello hello everyone! I figured I'd give you all a quick update regarding this years FFN23! I am planning on posting the official sign ups on July 1st! Be sure to keep an eye out for that announcement as I will be posting here as well as the FB homeshow page. I'm super excited for this years theme and honestly cannot wait to see what you guys will be coming up with.

You'll be getting wonderful awful ideas that'll make you say, I know just what to do.

Dear Friends,
The board of "old" Grand Overseers (OGO) lol for Frostfell Neighborhood would love to thank Kareena and her fellows for their service and creativity for the 2022 year. You are all due a standing round of applause!
It is also our pleasure to announce that for the coming 2023 FFN, Scabberss from the MD server, has agreed to be the new Grand Overseer! We are looking forward to another creative year!

Hello everyone! *waves* I just wanted to say thank you to Kareena and Stellacious so very much for this opportunity! I'm very honored to be this years GO. I got to see lots of creative/beautifully unique works of art being SO for AB and loved touring FFN22 on all servers!
I will be editing this original post for future updates. I will be sure to divide it up with a dotted/dashed line like I have above so you may see what has been recently added. I will also be sure to bump this post for people to see. Updates will also be posted on the FB homeshow page as well.

After her it has just been an effort to give new people an opportunity and the experience of "hosting" an event as well as try to continue the creative legacy by lending the new people some helps in doing so. lol
Plus I refuse to try and imagine our world without Celestiell, so it just can't happen!

FFN FTW!

Sorry I haven't gotten to doing videos yet. I was up in middle of night trying to finish uploading the NotD Neighborhood ones and it was taking forever for just a 5-minute video. After two videos having issues, I went back to bed. When I woke up, I was super sick. I got covid (did home test twice). Hubby had to work in office and even though he tried wearing mask, the group had lunch and dinner together. Since he is trying to get promoted, so he had to go into office because his boss. Anyway, I am starting to feel better so going to finish uploading the videos. Maybe if I am still up to making more videos, I will start with this event. Next will be SSHHS. I gotta hurry because his company is now making everyone return to the office 3 days a week starting March 1st and he has to travel to India. So don't be surprised if I disappear again in March but hopefully I will just have more days able to do videos.

/sigh...... That blows.

No, Everyone In Charge Of Things, business, government, etc., this is NOT over yet; stop pretending that it is. I know everyone's bored with it and tired of it, but up to and until it just settles in and becomes endemic and we have to get a yearly COVID and flu shot, it's still a danger (largely because there were always some people out there who never took it seriously...). X-P

Hope you (and he? :-/) are doing better soon! It's no fun, even at a "mild" level. :-/

The videos will be there tomorrow/next week/next year and we will all enjoy them forever when they are ready. I watched a few of the NotD ones just the other day and they are so funny as usual. Are building blocks included or separate from the 100 items.
When you say no Marketplace items, does that include house actors?

Question: will the whole lot count? judges are able and encouraged to walk in and all over? or just look from the "main path" like it was during the initial FFN contest?

i can help with crafting on Madul with Andreasjahn i would enter but due to a past screw up that was fixed i will not be entering neighborhoods anymore but happy to help craft things including house actors with rare supplied. and yes usually the judges walk the whole exhibit at least they should to catch any conversations amongst house actors or at least they used to

High level Carpies can make you House Actors, unless all the items have to be made by the participants? :-/

Building blocks are separate from the 100 items. You would have 100 items, 100 building blocks, and 100 free books to work with. In total, that would be 300 all together.
As far as house actors go, I would prefer if you obtained them from crafting rather than from Marketplace. If you or any other people need help getting house actors or need them made, I as well as other people would be happy to help you!

Yes the whole lot will count for judging! I encourage people to create structures that you can walk into and explore! People can also just create a home structure where you don't actually go into. Either way, judges will consider the whole lot for judging.

Which house is being used for this? The Tenebrous Tangle place?
