Fir jeweller strongbox?

    Finished a quest for an advanced recipe for carpenter.
    Chose this one because it said it would store 48 trinkets etc.
    Crafted it and then tried to open it after equiping it,but got a message in red saying:store not open.
    Do i need to start a shop first to open a trinketbox?
    If i had known that would happen i would have just opted for the normal strongbox recipe.
    Also tried to put it in the bank but got the same response.
    Is this behind a paywall for a freebee player or a bug?
    Otherwise no biggy if one of the above is so,then i'll choose the next recipe in that questline more carefully.

    this type of item is to be placed in you house ( for storing jewelry to sell )

    This may not help you but I use the weapon/armor/furniture/jewelry boxes to store stuff in my broker window. I have an alt or two that gets all of the things that aren't no-trade/heirloom that I think might be useable and they separate them into the proper boxes.
