EverQuest II: Poet’s Palace Dungeon Maker Forum Challenge!

I am posting this for my family member who signed up for the forum tonight to be able to enter this contest, but apparently he has to wait 72 hours (3 days) to be able to post or reply or send PM to moderator (which is not clear up front and only discovered near the very bottom of a HUGE set of forum rules). EQ2 support, contacted through /petition in-game, said they have no access to do anything about the forums and recommended we post his entry this way.

• I have had alot of fun doing this, I enjoyed the Sinking Sand Expansion so by you guy doing this contest I was excited. I have over 21 Boss in here and a lot of Elite mobs it is very pretty and I wanted to keep it as real as I could to the real Poet Palace, I really hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did making it. I know it's now past the cut-off date however real life intervened and I was unable to put in nearly as much time and effort as I wanted. Regardless I did get the basic work done on my dungeon (even if I didn't get all the fine touches in place) and wanted to at least share it even if it's not ellegible for consideration as part of the contest

Can we get an official statement on the flavor texts?

I am worried they will not be included in the judging of the dungeons as it stands now.

Checking patch notes each day for a fix, but nothing...

Will this competition really be judged from a broken dungeon?

Well, our dungeon was designed to not use flavor text because of its problems. We may have been able to make it cooler with proper flavor text. So, we think either way...someone is not going to feel this contest was fair to those of us that spent the time to try to really showcase custom player made dungeons.

While I'm sad flavor text isn't working, and I did put some in mine, has flavor texted ever worked in any dungeon? No one I know has gotten it to work consistently yet.

Just tried my first dungeon. The flavor text displayed upon attacking the first mob. In Poet's Palace I have yet to see a single text after running through it 4-5 times while testing.

I ran a player dm think it was one of the mistmoore's it was by elquinjina the other day and all the flavor text worked even during battles and upon deaths. lol those flavor texts really make it more fun.

Well, it's been a blast! During this building period you all faced the same obstacles equally. If I were to attempt to add a "spin" to this, I would pretend we left those in as an additional "challenge" to your skills - but then you'd hunt me down and drown me in a vat of my own beer, so instead I'll thank you for your patience, your bug-reporting and dedication to excellence throughout. Again, what you manage to create, even in an imperfect environ, is nothing short of inspiring. /bow
