Double Attack versus Crit Chance

I'm a melee warden that mostly solos with a little bit of grouping here and there. I'm a big fan of stuff that adds to my double attack and to some extent crit chance. Occasionally I have to make a choice between the two. I want to make smart choices and am curious how these stack up against each other.
Do double attack buffs stack with AA buff percentage?
Is it better to balance both crit chance and double attack?
Can the second attack of a double attack proc a buff from an item or AA?
Procs seem related to crit chance so it would seem that not only do crits give you better damage, but the better procs from items (at least that is how I understand it).
What I'm looking for is a better understanding of how the class works with double attacks and crit chance so I can gear and build for better DPS and healing. Level 72 is coming up soon and I'm trying to figure out my gear strategy. I'm level 69 with about 114 AA. My slider is at 100% right now until I finish Loping Plains and Bonemire quests so I can stack some more AA.
