Does EQNext even have Forums we can hang out and speculate on?

Greetings! I suppose Dex will close this real quick but I cannot even find forums for EQNext. So I am left posting here wondering if they will have them.

Very little information is available so I thought I would ask here.

    Thanks!

off-topic section would work poifectly ye?

 http://mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/forum/1448/General-Discussion.html has an EverQuest Next section where they employ WWII-era German dictators (Amana bad girl), they deleted a hundred+ of my posts, would be cruddy if it was SOE-sanctioned ;P

@TaliskerDev tweeted about a thread there a week or so ago, main dev http://EverQuestNext.com suggests to tweet if you have strong ideas about what EQ3 needs.

 there are also 2 others seeing light activity, http://EQNextFans.com & http://EQNForum.com , iirc

Khalija is also a WWII-era German dictator that banned & deleted my posts

murican respect for civil rights which allow them to exist of peace... ~_~''...

EQNextFans.com is operated by the Curse Network, a gaming conglomerate that also runs MMO-Champion.com.

The two big EQNext fan forums right now, which each have over 2,500 posts and hundreds of members, are:
As for EQNext News, EQ2Wire will be launching an EQNext News service very soon. We have been the leading source of EQNext news since it was first hinted, with breaking news and commentary, as well as exclusive transcripts of extensive interviews by Dave Georgeson which have confirmed, among other things, multi-classing for EQNext.

Moving this to Off Topic (no reason to close it -- just doesn't need to be in General Gameplay since EverQuest Next is not EverQuest II). :)

And what others have said are correct -- there are no official forums live at this time, though a number of EverQuest Next fansites are up with forums. There are also a number of discussions happening on social channels (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Reddit).

    - Check https://www.everquestnext.com/ daily for the juicy stuff.

 this makes me uncomfortable though, y dey putt'n Nagafen on the cover? ;|

tryna put EQ2's champion PvP server on blast or sumn?!

wiiiill also say thaaat i think they're going a bit overboard with the one-shoulder spaulder/pauldron thing... ;|

although this is "artist Gabor Szkiszai reinterpretion of Keith Parkinson's original EverQuest masterpiece" soo... o_o''...

i guess it's not too bad cause the krZe height on it would help deflect neck slashes... o_O''...

though damn it is ugly, brah should learn to paint his stuff blue or purple...

& Firiona Vie's sword just does not seem to be shaped or weighted in a manner conducive to effective slicing or stabbing...

...if she is representing multi-classing, as a primary mage now holding a bow & a sword...

    ...yikes...

I think i'll not like/detest multi-classing if, due to immediate/unpenalized core role alteration, it:
    · ruins reputation constancy on PvP servers
    · results in low class variety due to FOTM specs
    · offers little individuality due to FOTM specs

also, @TaliskerDev tweeted a fairly high quality playlist...well, that much I can say up to song 13/36 atm (though the end of song 13 gets too krazy)...

think the art does look a bit WoWish looking at the gaudiness of: Firiona Vie's sword & bow, the knee-/forearm-/shin-guards, belt, & pauldron styles ;|

sry ;p yes, an artist's interpretation, but Smedley's tweet of an unskinned model had a VERY similar pauldron style... ;|

would've preferred a greater slant toward realism, for armor at least...(#4VIa in the LOTPENSAB, LOL). O_O''... hm.

    some are saying similarly...

feel free to ignore my sentiments though, i chronically ask for too much in extremely meticulous ways...o_o''...

...i mean, i consider it a win if SOE is runaway successful with EQN, despite making a game i'd never play -- not that i'm that anti-EQN yet... >P

good representations of what Gabor Szkiszai is capable of...

more work with Firiona Vie from Keith Parkinson

i think i've briefly seen his work before, but i dont think i've committed it to memory until now...

the quality is absolutely awesome, though i dooont like how he did dragons, Kerra/Vahshir, whatever the trollish things are (looks excellently realistic though, but better realistic styles are possible), & maybe iksar in the last banner? (though it's fine if it's a lizardman, heh)... ;p

I was being nice in saying I'm not totally anti-EQN yet... =|...

...& I actually think they should delay release by 1-2 years to redo all the art on the caliber of Witcher 3/Crysis/Elder Scrolls, as i truly believe the Norrathian universe would >ANNIHILATE< all other games with a realistic angle... =[

    Even 6/10 of the hyper-partisan MMORPG.com community agrees. ;|

Realistic vs. stylized aesthetic. Which would you prefer? (poll) -

    Realism > Stylism...ugh....

I hate to be so vocal, but parts of this seem so wrong to me... =| ... ...

A lot of the armor just shouldn't be as thick...that's not how armor is cast or kept mobile & weight-bearable...

...pauldrons & forearm-/shin-guards should be closer to the body, & also not as thick, with no or little protruding or jagged edges which could give a foe leverage or a foothold to grab.

Belts should never be as gaudy as we see in the unskinned model of Smedley's tweeted image... >MOBILITY<... >FUNCTION<... @_@''...

Anatomically, unrealistically weighted, shaped, & knobby weapon styles should be avoided.

Dwarves >SHOULD NOT< look like they have no-neck disease (Turner syndrome? Webbed neck? No. Damn this lifeless, copycat Dwarf style...) =[

If you're going to have an unrealistically weighted weapon shape, then you better have a SUBSTANTIAL, ergonomic, rope/fabric-wrapped freaking handle... ~_o''...

    Too late I guess.

Why I somehow let myself have concern over all of this, is due to the fact that EQ2 PvP, before all of the mistakes, was some of the best & most immersive gaming I've experienced, & I felt EQ3 could've been (could be?) a ridiculously amazing chill spot.

It's difficult to find a community that you feel is worth being a part of... o_o''...Lol. ;p

    #full_super_saiyajin_nerdrage_over_nine_thousand ;|

Well, at least I learned Dark Elves were supposed to be black, but due to limitations in EQ1, had to be blue/purple.

I will say they must stay blue/purple... ;p

Maybe I'm trippin' about the shinguards & armor thickness (obviously VahShir, dwarves, & ogres would naturally be more muscular), & I get the whole, sword-arm & defensive-arm 1-arm pauldron thing...

...I mean, I can look at it & say, "it isn't...too bad (though I think these feels shouldn't even have to be like this)...

...but if I had a choice, creative direction wouldn't be as it is. ;| Lol.

Would I >EVER< want a character that looked like any of those shown though? Honestly, no... ;|

EverQuest 2 Screenshot Thread <-- see post #2 for how I styled my characters in EQ2
    https://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/index.php?posts/5935567

I know even EQ2 has ridiculous spaulders (though I feel most exotic/wild EQ2 pauldrons are a more gentler step away from realism than what we're seeing for EverQuest Next), shields, & weapons with handles not conducive to an optimal center of balance, but I feel that's something that needs to be departed from...

And, going by the thread explosions on MMORPG.com last night & this morning, others do too... o_o''...

Flaring forearm-guards are a definite no though...

I saw an old, leaked EverQuest Next orc screenshot with a wildly spiked bracelet, but that's not >TOO< bad, because the orc was ridiculously swole -- I personally wouldn't approve it though, as a 360 degree spiked bracelet is liable to result in self detriment if overpowered...

Also, I had a bit of concern hearing of characters jumping 10 feet in the air & slamming down in a leaked video.

I do think the prior, grand, royal grace & hotness of Firiona Vie seen in Keith Parkinson's artwork should be restored...she's like an odd, elven-looking 7/10 now, when she used to be a wife-able 10/10 to an 11/10.

More consensus agrees that it looks cartoony, WoWish, & unfavorable... =[

I will say I have no idea about the tiny creature with the hock/gambrel hind leg joint.

Its face shape seems like a Ratonga, but it has no noticeable fur, & no mammal nose.

I remember seeing another poster on MMORPG.com saying the EverQuest Next website used to have phrasing below it saying it was done "in the style of EQN"...

...maybe we're all overreacting & 99% of offered armor will have realistic variety, but it seems doubtful. ;|

    8th MMORPG.com discontent thread I accidentally omitted! ;p... =X ...

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/389689/Firiona-has-a-bow.html

A poster at the Reddit link above (Nekryyd) linked a likable dark armor comparison (sry to be such a jerk airing muh viewz m8z)...

...compared to an overly exaggerated, stylized WoW "dark" armor theme...

I will say I'm heavily biased toward EverQuest II & the general realism of Witcher 3/Crysis/Elder Scrolls (though I've never played those 3), & I do think a LOT of EverQuest II's armor is done very well (especially many of the heritage sets), with subtle departures from realistic armoring, if any.

Just to touch on this one point - I hope EQNext has no classes or at the very least multi-classing. I'd like my ranger to be able to learn magic.

That said, games that have no class restrictions don't always suffer from FOTM issues. At least no more than games with classes suffer from FOTM specs for tanks, healers, and ranged dps.
  18. Feldon Well-Known Member

    Multi-classing is confirmed.
