I bought the lifetime sub and got over 17,500 DBG for the 11 months or so I still had on my one year sub.

That was the gist of a post up above, yeah; hopefully, they'll come up with some holiday reason to trot it out again for, say, Erollisi Day, especially if it worked really well this time. It is a new thing, though; they're still feeling their way round, I guess, and it probably won't be the last time they offer it. ;->

Game isn't growing in player population because it doesn't get advertised much compared to others, such as WoW, or any of the team shooters. The various arena setup did try team vs team; but again, without the general advertisement, you only had the normal player population to draw from; no new blood.

So, if we're already on the yearly sub, can we not get the cool items you are giving out for the new yearly subscribers? I mean, we ARE paying once a year. Just not now. Or do we have to buy it again instead of waiting for when ours comes due?

That's ok. I didin't want to spend all my freebie Xmas money... Went to buy last nite, but NOoOOOOoo.. I have to go to Twitter to find out the flipping subs are all sold out.
    Way to market.
    Way to communicate.
Way to look out for the player base.

Thanks for making my decision easier ! <3

inb4 bringing it back for New Years... that ships sailed, yo. There's a sale at the hardware store, and there's this shiny new grill I've been eyeballing..

Can understand the frustration, however, Mepps posted here Monday the lifetime subs were sold out.
"The Lifetime All Access Memberships have sold out. The 12 Month + Bonus are still available!
    Mepps, Monday at 9:42 AM"
    Enjoy your grill!

Who is Mepps? Ohh, that's the guy from DCUO ;)

I'm only semi-grouchy. This grill fired bovine should do well to ease the grump.

    Seeya soon SPIN. /creepmode on

The 12 Month All Access Membership + Bonus should have been the cost of a 12 Month sub ($119.88) with bonus items thrown in so as to provide incentive to lock in as many players as possible playing for the next year. The "Bonus" items are quite a bit less than spectacular for an $80.12 price tag.

EDIT: $80.11 since that 0.01 will matter to someone

That's always been the issue with both EQ1 and EQ2, even with that big, brief blow-out ad by SONY (I guess hoping to get some better revenue coming in from its SOE branch) that was done about the only way SONY knew how to: as a huge ad in the movie theaters, like a theatrical trailer. It looked impressive, and was probably quite expensive, vs. print ads (in something other than just gamer 'zines), web ads, billboards, or even TV ads, all of which WoW did, with excellent results for them. I don't know about anyone else's theories, but I think WoW could've started losing players once people realized what the grand majority of the community was like (I lucked out with my guildies and my RL buddies who came over there) and the in-game economy (which, as bad as ours is right now on the Broker due to rampant, runaway inflation, is still INFINITELY better than WoW's). At any rate, they still have millions of players, and back when SOE was still doing physical game cards at places like Target, Best Buy, and 7-11 (I didn't look in Wal-mart, because the only way to get me in one of those would be with a picket sign), I had to explain what I was looking for by saying something like, "It's an online fantasy game, like World of Warcraft." "OH! Yeah! Yeah, all the game cards like that are over there. [pointing to the section]"

I have no idea why this should be so. I mean, groovy, it's one thing to "make a game we'd like to play ourselves," that's great, but if you want to make a business of it that helps to at least pay for it to operate, YOU NEED TO ADVERTISE. Properly. Saturate the advertising. Don't treat folks like Mac/Apple users ("We don't want just anyone being able to be here with us, do we? o_O:cool::p"), treat them like Windows/IBM users ("Come on in! Everyone! You say you want to emulate our computer system as an 'IBM clone'? Be our guest! Just remember where you got that from... ;->"). Which is probably why Apple was flirting with bankruptcy at one point, and neither IBM nor Windows were not.

Bought the Lifetime subs for the Woodelf and me. Her yearly was due next month where my sub wasn't due until next July. I completely didn't think to write down my station cash amount before subbing for Lifetime. Is there a way to see how much SC we were compensated for? (like some sort of audit trail so something?)

Might be under "account history". That's where it used to go if you redeemed a game card or otherwise got a SC/DBC grant (like the monthly).

The Lifetime All Access Membership has been brought back due to popular demand. It will be available through the end of the extravaganza on December 31, 2018.

Should we expect another round of sales after the 1st? I'm sure all of those who spent their money on the holidays would like a chance to buy after they get paid.

It's interesting that they brought this back. I'm hoping against hope that some of this Lifetime sub money goes into EQ2, and not just Planetside: Arena.
  19. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

That would be nice, yes! :)

After all, we're the ones getting this (though I'm not sure if it's being offered in other games beyond the EQniverse); the cash should be going to the games we're supporting. ;->

Has there been a big general announcement about it, like in the Extravaganza ad itself? :)
