I had pre-ordered the Chaos Descending Premium Edition, which came with the level 110 boost. My main SK was already at 110 by then, so I used it on my Warlock, bringing him from 100 to 110. What was surprising to me, (as I'd never used a level boost before) was that all of his 110 spells were boosted up to Expert already, which is amazing considering how much time is spent researching or money is spent to purchase upgrades on the broker at that level. My question is, with the current 12 month all access + bonus deal, could the 110 boost that it comes with be used on my already level 110 SK just for the sake of boosting his skills to Expert level? I wouldn't want to be forced to use it on another level 100 alt character.

We have less than 1000 Lifetime All Access Memberships left. FYI for anyone who doesn't hate the idea!

Wish they had this 10 years back instead .
But at the age of the game and all the new games coming out its a hard sell ..
Wish you the best of luck .

    Who owns Daybreak anyways ?
Not sure if this life time membership for fast buck may have something to do with ongoing in US ?

Is there a reason that the Lifetime Sub option does not come with any ingame bonuses?
Is it because they assume the lifetime sub is enough of a bonus as is?
Hell, at least thrown lvl 110 boosts in the Marketplace so we can use our converted DBC to buy a couple.... getting tired of leveling 90-110 (PoM got old for me quick)....

Glad you like the drama! You have way more patience than I... ;->

The thing that gets me is that a lot of the nay-sayers seem bound and determined to try to convince the folks on the fence during this or any other potentially fraught thread that anyone still supporting the game is an idiot, and "it's gonna fold by next fiscal quarter" (if they get that fancy) and this, that, and the other thing, until the folks on the fence, who may represent a good chunk of customer numbers, make their minds up to leave. This can have an impact on any game, possibly leading to a premature folding that might not otherwise have happened yet (if not for several years; EVE Online is still a thing), but proves the nay-sayers "RIGHT!!! See? I was right! Neener-neener, neener!" and gives them some sort of bragging rights somewhere...where, is anyone's guess; whatever circle of hell is reserved for those who deliberately want to suck the joy out of a community that means a lot to people, many of whom might not have any other widespread community due to whatever grimness might be going on in RL. :-/

Short answer is Yes to the reason question. Mepps lays it out in a post further back. Best to read it instead of me trying to explain, but it has to do with the parity.

I have 3 accounts, and would love lifetime membership, but $900 at this time of the year is just too much. Now if you were to consider a 2019 Summertime extravaganza, count me in. ;)

This is something that makes me curious. I know others have touched on it. Wouldn't it make more sense to do something like have a sale from Dec 15 through Jan 15 and push to sell as many as possible in that time frame? They could give people more time to get the money over the holidays and sell more over all packages while still keeping a sense of urgency and exclusivity. Even if their goal is just to generate a burst of income before the end of the year, they still would without people freaking out so much about some of the particulars. It just makes me think, why do it this way?
  11. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

Hmm...they might do another rendition for Erollisi Day (somehow; "Buy your loved one a life-time membership! He/she will love you forever!" might or might not be a good sales pitch ;->), if this one works as well as they're hoping. And, hopefully, folks' bank accounts could support it better, yeah.

And, plus, consider who you're asking for economic sense from... ;->

Ok all caught up now reading this Looooonnnnngggg thread. I look at it this way if you are already playing and you are already spending your money what does it hurt (unless of course you just can't afford it) but even if the game last just another year instead of 2 1/2 what have you really lost $100.00 and some odd dollars? In the grand scheme of things that is not a lot of money for rounding purposes $10.00 a month not much at all, unless you are on a very tight budget but still $10.00. At most you would loose the $100.00 or whatever it is if the game does shut down a year from now. If it doesn't shut down you are set for life, I really don't see what the problem is myself. I'm going to do it, if there's any left (crosses fingers) by the time I get back into the game (been really busy at work before the holidays so we could take some time off)

Other people on here should not be telling people how to spend their money and they are stupid if they do blah blah blah. What are you financial advisors? Well you aren't my financial advisor so I'm doing it.

The only concern I have but am still willing to take the risk, is if they get bought out and the new people don't honor the lifetime membership. But I would hope for our sakes that would be rolled into any deal they have to sell to honor them.

So can you confirm that at least throughout 2019 EQ2 will have full on development including an expansion?

I know this has been said ad nauseam, but I wish they would follow the direction of many other successful games and make the subscription optional (fluff perks but not basic game functions as with current ftp model) and otherwise, just charge for the expansions or content updates themselves. I think that would be much more appealing to many people.

I love the game, I have a sub, and I play the game (albeit nowhere near as much as I used to due to its current direction). That's the problem - I LOVE THE GAME, and hate seeing what it has become.

I'm not a "nay-sayer" - what I am saying is that I (and others to judge by other posts and dwindling player populations on servers - yes, they are dwindling) have been burnt by DBG before and am very wary about this lifetime offer at this late stage of the game's life. I am very pragmatic and practical. But each to their own. If it makes you happy, good. But buyer beware, and manage expectations - do so with your eyes wide open, and not caught up in breathless marketing hype.

Nay-sayers, anxiety, hate what game is becoming, " buyer beware ... negative personal emotions regarding the game will not impress DBG in any way ! If they make money they will keep the game running if not they will stop. The only thing that it can accomplish is creating a negative atmosphere around the game that will drive away any new people trying to give this old game a chance ( with a deep learning curve anyway ) and maybe to get satisfaction if the game goes down by " I was right" or " I told you so " . Try to have fun, help newcomers with enthusiasm let them make their own impression about the game, if you don't agree with something you are free not to buy or " move along " and obviously if you hate what the game has become then you don't love the game and you don't have fun playing :(

Both of you have valid points. Feedback, both positive and negative, is useful for making informed, productive, and welfare enhancing decisions.

Everyone is entitled to their own preferences. I tend not to post much here, but I do when I see (1) posts that are intentionally or perhaps unintentionally misleading, and (2) to comment on business practices that I want to encourage or discourage.

There is nothing wrong with persuading people to consider your point of view. But persuasive attemps that lack candor do not help anyone.

Sell the game for what it actually is, the good and the bad. If peeps are cool with that picture, great - have fun!

If there are elements that would cause a person not to buy, better they know before they do so, because they will likely quit anyway, be ticked-off about it, and tell 20 friends they got ripped off. This doesn't help the purchaser, those who support the game want to recruit more, or DBG for that matter.

If, after digesting both sides, and they are still unsure, then they can try it for themselves, either liking it, or walking away with no hard feelings.

We should want people to make informed decisions before buying, and that means honest and candid appraisals for both sides of the coin and from as many different perspectives as possible.

There is no reason to get offended when someone has a negative view. It's just their view, and they are entitled to it just as are those with viewpoint dominated by the positives. Both are useful - so make your case. Just be honest with people so you can do your part to help others make a decision that is wefare enhancing for all involved.

    Feedback is useful :)

If you want my money all you have to do is make a Blue/ice and or black Adult dragon illusion that dosent go away when you mount up... but subscription stuff doesn't attract me at all it never did.. If you make a Feral dragon illusion of every color not a baby dragon that dont count Ill gladly spend my money onto this game. I did when Eq1 had that Dragon illusion.. Just wish it was alot bigger..

Deleting my comment when I say I would love to return if things were more positive...

I really don't understand? You're doing nothing but reinforcing the way I feel. What an absolutely bizarre way to handle PR. Like I said in my deleted comment I care about the game very much and that's why I'm still around even though I don't play right now.
  20. Alyndrys Well-Known Member

Of course positive and negative feedback is important ! The problem is the nay-sayers have a lot louder voice than the others so the picture is not accurate ! I still think that people should try and make their own opinion before being influenced by the others ( at least I like that ) and of course nobody should run and spend money on anything before they know they will get enough entertainment for that money ( and that is personal preference ) :)
