Yes, but then once you hit level cap you run into the same issue you likely faced in WoW, the tank spots in raid guilds are almost always filled by core members who already know the content. Illy is a great choice, but also the over played of the two enchanters by a pretty large margin. If its group/raid slots your after you may be better off going Coerser. Don't do it! You'll have more fun running a single toon and leveling with groups during the initial server rush.
Thanks to Charm being overnerfed, Coercer is vastly inferior to Illusionist in every respect for a very long time. It’s better to have a bot do it. Coercers might be rarer but Illusionists will be needed more: two Mage groups will become the standard because Predators blow and the Rogues can comfortably sit in Tank groups.
