Title says it we can't get into Raid chat and we have people not in our guild raiding with us. also nothing but guild chat works but some how some of our guildmates are in a different guild chat then we are.
It wasn't just raid chat. Pick any chat channel, any server. I'm on Maj'dul. Chat channels were repeatedly going in and out and indiscriminately. And not just for all people. You'd have individuals in guild chat and others who couldn't get in. Group chat was in and out and even privately created group channels. It was a complete mess for hours on end. No idea why it was happening or if it's even going to ever get fixed.
Voice chat has been squirrely for at least 2 days now. Sometimes it works for some people and not others..sometimes for nobody. And who it works for changes from group to group and character to character.
Wanted to amend that to, this month. Then did a search of the forums, and Microsoft. Run Windows 10? Microsoft might be to blame. Those other longer term issues? Keep old school image backups, and restore when necessary. Apparently a Windows patch after a Daybreak patch can cause problems. Whereas a Windows patch followed by a Daybreak patch is okay.
Except I had no problems yesterday, though 1/2 my group did.. and today it's swapped... people with voice issues yesterday have it working fine and those that didn't are borked today. These wer ne buts.. not old ones.. for us
I understand that this is holiday time...but honestly....that is when people are home and wanting to play. Get people in and get this problem fixed!!!
System problems usually have this catch phrase. https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/windows-10-october-update-issues "only a small percentage of users ... were affected" https://blogs.windows.com/windowsex...ased-to-windows-insiders/#j3efAb0svQM3zbFc.97 "At just two days into the rollout when we paused, the number of customers taking the October 2018 Update was limited. While the reports of actual data loss are few (one one-hundredth of one percent of version 1809 installs), any data loss is serious." John Cable, Microsoft Director of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery Translation. A system change may affect you today. It may affect you tomorrow. It may never affect you. Because over time, no two computer setups are the same. Nor are the reactions of any two users the same. Apparently this is not a "long term issue" but one of those """small""" * voice issues that Daybreak fixes 'quickly.' Which could fix the problem for some and cause problems for others. I think the last time server(s) got rebooted. * No official comment from Daybreak. And by the way, look at the Game Update Notes forum, and search for "voice." You'll not find one mention. Perhaps indicating Daybreak does not consider voice chat a priority. This """small""" voice issue has affected our group twice this month. During those voice blackout periods, we went to conference calls or Skype. Haven't had to do a "long term issue" fix, re-install a system image, in months. That's some progress. I agree. If someone broke something, they should stay and fix it.
The chat thing over the year may have been Microsoft related. A page of server down posts means DBG owns the recent server/chat server debacle.
