I keep track of each of my 20 alts Skill Research times on an Excel Worksheet so that I may know when one is complete - this is recorded to the Day, Hour and Minute. Today I was looking forward to having two of my alts completing their skill research. But when I logged in to check on their times - I find that they are not completed and that they appear to be still researching the last skill ( as in the one before current one ) I completed. The likelihood that there is a mistake int TWO of the characters is infinitesimally small to suggest that INSTEAD something has changed. I suspect that either or both of the following issues may be a causal agent in this: 1.) the DBG database has been compromised, and/or that 2.) the character data concerning Skill Research has been unintentionally rolled back. It is possible that both have happened and #2 is simply an accident resulting from incorrect attempts at dealing with #1. However, what remains is that my characters will not be able to TRUST that they can research data in this game.
Well a couple more alts now have experienced this 1.) alt #5 who should have completed now showing 25 days remaining to completion 2.) alt #6 who should have completed now showing 25 days remaining to completion 3.) alt #12 who should have completed now showing 25 days remaining to completion Tell you what, I'll check these very same alts tomorrow at this time and see if the counter is STUCK AT 25 DAYS still. /sigh
Nixer did your subscription lapse at all? I vaguely remember someone posted that if you are a subscriber and then it lapses it resets the timer. It's absolutely vague on my recollection/thread that triggered the recollection. Could that have been what happened? If you haven't already I suggest /petition so CS will hopefully resolve the issue. thanks for the suggestion Xianthia My sub is still active and should be good till 05/18. Rechecked patch notes back through March and nothing about Ascension research times. I guess it is time to enter another issue in the Community Issue Tracker.
Well, as promised, update after 24 hours: 1.) Alt #5 now shows 21 days remaining "Researching: Wildfire (Expert)". 2.) Alt #6 now shows 21 days remaining "Researching: Wildfire (Expert)". 3.) Alt #12 now shows 21 days remaining "Researching: Wildfire (Expert)". If I recall this is the base time you Start at when researching this skill prior to Master. So perhaps tomorrow, it will actually start researching from the base start time. Will check back and update tomorrow. An observation is in order, Since yesterday I have gained 4 days worth of research on a skill level that only takes 21 days, which is where they are at right now. Yesterday they had 25 days remaining on an adventuring skill level that only takes 21 days to research. And today they are all at 21 days, zero hours and zero minutes remaining - just like they just started researching the skill. The question is how did the research get beyond the max time on the current skill being researched? It may have been caused by a change in the level of the spell they were researching from a higher level to a lower level through some server side initiated events. Since a Master Ascension Research takes 41 days and everything up to Expert takes 21 days. I know that I cannot and did not do that. Which leads to the question of why are researched adventuring skill levels being changed? And without the player initiating it?
Well it seems that research is operating as expected once again. I wonder where those missing 5-6 days went on half of my alts. Was there a hiccup in research, server maintenance accident, etc... ? Today's info includes a transcribed worksheet of my alts research and timing adjustments that had to be made to match up to what the researchers are telling me today. Hard on the eyes, I know. Seems that the extra spaces are automatically removed by the forum tool and that makes it hard to read. I even edited the post to put spaces back only to have them auto-removed; /sigh. Something of note, The Alts either are close (within minutes) or days off ( 5 or 6). I'd not be concerned with be a few minutes off given that the granularity of times being reported by the researchers are in days and hours. So, there will be no info on hours given and as such it can vary as much as +/- 59 minutes from actual time. But, back to the 5 or 6 day differences half the alts are finding. Something threw Adventuring Skill Research out of normal operation.

Ok - I thought this was addressed yet now I find that alts who were researching Ascension skills and should have been completed do not complete - the timer simply just keeps counting. So today for instance I had three characters who should have been finished with 21 day researches on Ascension spells come to find that they had 23 DAYS REMAINING on spells that have been actively researched for the last 3 weeks and should have been completed. Seems the timer simply kept on going - like some damn battery commercial mascot !@#$ So if a skill shows it is being researched and it shows the amount of time remaining you should expect to come back in that time and find the skill completed not having ADDITIONAL TIMER ADDED TO IT @@#$%
Made some similar experience. Timer stopping randomly on ALL chars. If i start resarching a new spell on one Char, timers on seems to running again. My suggestion is that, if you level an asc-class timer sometimes stops accountwide. This bug never happend before introducing asc-classes. It was hardly to prove this behavior because i don't use any tracking. Always thougt:, You remember wrong research time, look tommorrow on char again.
Well two more characters have been swindled out of research times by an algorithm created and managed by a kindergardner. Was that a bit harsh ... well payback is due. Two character who were researching Ascension Wildfire Master were told that they still had 50 days remaining on a spell research that should have taken 50 days when they started .... 50 days ago.... what is so hard about rudimentary mathematical calculations? Do not expect a resub from me.
