Boat Ride with small write up storyline

    Ok this is just a suggestion with a basic storyline and such-- this is somethinig that will hopefully appeal to ppl who both Want a Boat ride in game and those that Dont want one due to timesinks of it---

    One day while venturing thru deserts of Sinking Sands, our adventurer stumbles across a trader standing near the docks waving his direction. Slowly he makes his way over to the trader standing next to some crates.
    **Good day my fair adventurer, says the trader, I am Mohocmid Alture, a trader for the Maji'Du trading company. I have a vital mission for you and your friends if your willing to help?**
    Standing there curiously, thinking to yourself your pockets been feeling bit light recently and could use some work you reply... Depends what u have in mind??
    **Well, replies Alture, i got a shipment of goods that delevered to one of our trading islands out on the deep sea... but her recently we've been loosing more and supplies to the many dangers of the sea and finding it hard and harder to find good help. Would ye be up to the task of escorting these supplies there and back. A good ill pay for your troubles
    Accepting his offer you and your friends board the vessel at the docsk and prepare to set sail not noing what to expect or what lies ahead......

    Now for the how to execute it....
    The boat can be entered by a bell on docks in SS that zones your group into a boat ride instance... The boat should be one bigger then the little ones we have now for access quests, this would allow more players to zone in for x2 or x4 versions. Once on the boat there will of course be crew mates and a captain on board once everyone zones in and someone talks to the caption it starts the Ring Event and the boat sets sail.
    Over the ride the boat can be attacked by different types of mobs and plagues... swarms of sea gulls. giant octopus, sirens, harpies, etc... each wave of course getting harder and harder... Can throw in the smaller sea gull type waves in between to create a reast peroid. of times of no mobs at all. maybe have 1 or 2 smaller named on way there and back from island but just before making landfall create a big battle design.
    Maybe a Giant Named Octopus with smaller ones helping him.. .. or a Pirate ambush on the boat where u have to defend it from being plundered. and Boss mob could be the Pirate Captin (who could even be undead to add something fun to storyline)

    Be cool also if they could add in so players could trigger the cannons on the ship to help defend off the pirates ship making succesful fires = less mobs failed=more of course

    Loot would have to be of course something that justified the time to complete and lockout and dificurlty which be nice if it scaled

    I think this would be a good idea for an adventure pack. I don't want to see boats implemented as a form of travel because I never liked waiting on them in EQ1. I don't RP and have enough people to talk to. Anyways, staying on the boat like through OOT wasn't much fun either.

    However, a boat-ride instance with encounters to fill up the travel time would be fun. Especially if there were different multiple encounters with different loot to add variety possible. The same run would get old but either being attacked by sea creatures, pirates or drakotas would make it different. If they could make it so a solo, group or raid could enter, that would be a lot of fun. Scalable would also be nice but not like the guild quests scalable.

    I think the boatride itself shouldn't be the only part of the instance. There should also be a destination like a primative island with multiple bosses and tribals that maybe worship it. Maybe you have to clear all the tribal villages with lots of AoE fun before you kill their god.

    island is a cool idea ... thought of it later after wrote this maybe could make it so its the designation and on way u have to fight off the pirates and other mobs there then on island u have to escort the boxes (who are carried by NPCs you have to keep alive all way to main trading outpost) there u could get ambushed by ****** use imagination here

    But ya this could be a cool Adventure pack or simple just a freeby add on zone/raid to compliment DoF
