    Hello Raiders!

I am posting this here as a heads up to all those currently raiding Kunark Ascending raid zones. We will be changing the way the lockouts work for the two Vaedenmoor zones (Realm of Despair and Heart of Nightmares) as well as new zones going forward starting with next expansion where we are doing some really neat and unique things to bring a really cool progression for all levels of raiders from casual to hardcore.

    Why are we doing this?
In the past lockouts have had a minimum and a maximum number of days allowing your raid force to choose when to reset your zones based on your respective raid days/times availability. While this gave more flexibility to raiders, it also has had its fair share of issues stemming from it. We will be changing these zones from minimum 3 day (2 days and 20 hours actually) or 5 day (4 days and 20 hours actually) lockout and maximum 14 day lockout to a static lockout where there is no range. This helps prevent an issue that can arise where raids can use a set of chained instances to clear zones with the same raiders more than was intended per week. We are actively investigating many guilds at the moment to determine if this exploit was used and we will be taking appropriate action depending on the severity of use.

The new lockouts are as follows:

    Vaedenmoor: Realm of Despair [Raid]:
    Old Lockout: 3-14 days
New Lockout: 2 days and 20 hours static lockout

    Vaedenmoor: Heart of Nightmares [Raid]:
    Old Lockout: 7-14 days
New Lockout: 4 days and 20 hours static lockout

As you can see, the minimum lockout has either not changed or reduced so that the intended rate at which you can do the zones won’t change or will get a little bit faster.

What does this mean for you?
If you are not a raider you should not see any change at all and you can stop reading here! No really, you can…

If you are a raider that is currently raiding one of the two affected zones there will be some noticeable changes. Because we are changing the way the zones lock players out, we will need to reset any of the affected raid zones that are saved in the game currently. So, you will lose your current lockouts on those zones. This is the main reason for the heads up, so you are able to plan accordingly and spread the word to others who might not have seen this message. After the next update, not Tuesday(8/15), all who zone into one of the affected zones will create new zones instead of zoning into a saved zone. After that point the zones will save/lockout as normal using the new rules. This also means that if you time it right you can clear a zone before the update then the next day clear it again for more phat lewts. This is not considered an exploit and feel free to do it if you so desire without fear of getting in trouble for it.

If there are any questions feel free to reach out to me personally through PM or Discord.

NOTE: You will not be in trouble unless you have used this exploit to have more than the number of intended zone lockouts on one character. I.e. if you have more than 3 zones locked to you before the min and max window has expired that's no bueno!
