Do we still have to do the KA signature line before we can start leveling ascension? Even for the new free heroics?
If you have done the quests for Yun Zi (at the spires in Sundered Frontier) you can get your level 100 toons started on ascensions there.
As far as I can tell you do not. I started a character on Elementalist a while ago (long enough she's got 50 guided ascension sitting in her inventory) that hasn't even done enough to be non-KOS to the Greenmist guys. I just clicked the portal in my guild hall flew to avoid agro and talked to Najena. I've got 2 others on a different account that have only really just done the bit to get non-agro. I don't know when it was changed, but it was.
