Adventurers, Tradeskillers, Role Players, Decorators, PvPers, and Raiders alike join us for this unique event!

If you are looking for a guild to call home, or a guild looking to welcome new members home then you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity.

The Underground Decorating Society will be hosting a server wide Guild Recruitment Faire for one day only!

There will be booths set up for each participating guild to have a representative that can answer any questions about your home. They will be able to set up one salesman crate filled only with information packets about their guild for just a few coppers for people purchase and take with them when they leave.

In addition, they will have the opportunity to schedule a five minute speech about their guild on the grand stage.

This is a rare opportunity for the guilds and guildless to come together, no matter their play style, focus, or faction and learn about each other. Who knows, you may even pick up a recruit or two!

If you are a representative of your guild’s leadership and you’d like to participate please contact Basel through the in-game mail or PM me on these forums. Please visit our website for the fine print!

To address some of the frequently asked questions I've been getting, and to go a little more in detail about what the Guild Recruitment Event is about I've written up the following:

    Q) What exactly is the Guild Recruitment Faire about?

    A) Simply put, it is a day for people to come together, guilded or unguilded, to promote their guilds, look for a guild home, ask and answer questions, and (if desired) schedule a time to give a brief 5 - 10 minute speech about their guild focus and what they have to offer their membership.

    Q) Why would you want different people talking about their guilds in one place, doesn't that defeat the purpose of getting new members for your own guild?

    A) The Underground Decorating Society, albeit a late night hard core Role Play guild, strongly believes in community preservation. Yes, we are always looking for exceptional role players interested in an open world role play environment, but we appreciate that not everyone is a good fit for UDS.

Antonia Bayle is currently one of the largest populated servers providing a home for players of various types and time zones. Our goal, essentially, is to get people together so they can learn about each other. Even though we all play on a Role Play server, not everyone role plays and there are rare public events that cater to anyone other than the role players.

We want to put the commune back in community regardless of play style, open doors to new and old players, and bridge the gap between the growing division of play styles.

    Q) Our guild is focus is (raiding, pvping, role playing, crafting, family friendly casual) what benefit would we have in showing up?

    A) The biggest misconception about this event is that you must be one type of player or another to participate. Think of this as a job fair scenario. If you are a guild leader (in the real world you would be an employer) and you are seeking new members (employees) you wouldn't miss out on a huge opportunity to let potential recruits learn more about you.

It doesn't matter what your guild focus is, you need members right? There are a lot of players out there looking for the right home for them, you'd be silly not to get your info out there and take a little time to meet and greet potential recruits. It's also a great time to meet other guild leaderships and potentially form alliances!

We only ask people to keep it family friendly and have some common courtesy toward each other during the event.

    Q) Our guild would like to participate but the day (Saturday, February 1st) and/or time (noon - 8 pm PST) just doesn't work for us as we have things already scheduled. What can we do?

    A) Can't make it, but still want your info out there? No problem! Just send Basel a player written book (or PM me on these boards if you can't send mail) with the information below written in it and we will put it up for display:

    Guild Name
Guild Focus (raiding, pvp, role play, family friendly general, crafting oriented)
    Guild Website (if applicable)
    Who to contact
Brief history and description of your guild and what you have to offer new members

I'd like to thank the guilds that have shown their support and are preparing their officers and player written books for this event. We look forward to seeing you there! Not signed up yet? You still have time, registration for guilds and volunteers closes on January 30th. For more information on how to get involved visit our website.

As always you can contact me in game via the Norrathian Mail system or PM on these boards.

UPDATE: The Gathering Event Hall construction is complete. Some pictures can be found in the homeshow forums here or you are welcome to visit the hall prior to the event on Antonia Bayle housing boards under Massive Homes recently published.

As a reminder while the event lasts from noon until 8 pm PST anyone wanting to present or visit is not required to stay the duration, as we understand people have other things to do.

If I've left anyone out it was not intentional, but as many of you who joined us tonight saw how very big the turn out was. To those of you who were searching for a home, we hope that you were able to find one or at least get an idea of what sorts of great people make up the community of Antonia Bayle.

A big thanks to RadarX for taking some time out of his busy schedule this week to give the event a nudge.

Thank you again and we hope to see you at the next Community First Project event we host!

We are considering doing it twice a year, but at this time it is only scheduled for once a year.
