Amalgamations for 100+

Some basic ideas for a sort of consumables revamp. Give all of the tradeskill classes their own amalgamation recipes for 100 (and/or beyond?).

Quest, because the rest of it has been quest introduced. Crafting-minded NPC gets interested in amalgamations and contacts us crafters who have completed the Shipwrecked! quest line. Step 1 asks us to give the NPC a few amalgamations for him to work with. Then asks us to attempt crafting amalgamations from various materials provided by the NPC. Hilarity results. Eventually we get a recipe to make amalgamations from the harvests not covered already. Last quest has the NPC ask us to come up with some recipe ideas now that we understand the process of making amalgamations better than we did before. The usual craft some notes and we make our own end series reward (like a real crafter!) and share it with the NPC.

General idea: the new crafting buffs need to be applied "out of combat" and have relatively good duration. Say 15-30 min on average? Some can be applied in combat, but with much shorter duration. Casting time might be longer. Also several may have minor effects, but buff an entire group. Buffs from the same class shouldn't stack, but buffs from different classes should. Buffs should be percentage based so they scale well. Maybe even make them usable by any level player? Might need rare mats in addition to amalgamations?

Provisioners: A series of "juices". Not steroids at all! This could be a very short duration buff that can be used in combat. Maybe a big bonus to a typed damage? Or a proc effect? Could even be a temporary stat boost. Even a combination of the above. To make it really interesting, instead of a cooldown it could give a stacking debuff that reduces the effectiveness of all juices. The more you drink, the less you get.

Woodworkers: A series of "incense". Provides a group buff. Something like a proc heal triggered by anyone buffed getting a heal, or something simple like a temporary increase in max HP and/or power. A really extreme idea would be a group version of bloodletter. 1 floating death prevent trigger that takes 20% HP when it finally triggers.

Carpenters: Actually the idea of this class producing anything but furniture seems silly. Find 3 or 4 really awesome things that would make good furniture. Or maybe some house actors for ToT mobs?

Armorer: polishing kit. Restores 10% condition when used, and provides a buff. +% to resistance or mittigation seems natural. A stat bonus doesn't seem unreasonable either. Maybe a proc death prevent when you take over 50% damage in one hit?

Weaponsmith: Finishing kit. I would call it a sharpening kit, but what about maces and hammers? And wands? Anyways, affects all weapons. Bonus to DPS is a must. Maybe bonus accuracy or even a straight hit rate mod? Alternatively a bonus to defense and riposte bonus? Riposte damage bonus too? Also a kit for ammo conservation.

Tailor: already gave all the fitting ideas to Armorer, so lets go a bit silly. Grooming Kit. Gives a "well manicured" bonus. What does the bonus do? Random buff from a hidden table. Can not be dispelled or canceled. Also a "Gentleman's Gentleman kit" to buff mercs. Should be more like standard buffs. Or maybe applies all buffs on the player to the merc too?

Sage: scrolls! Group evacuation, Druid and Wizard portal scrolls. If you really want to make people happy, just an "go anywhere a druid, wizard or bell would take you" scroll. Make like 100 scrolls per amalgamation.

Jeweler: Runes! Cast the runes to provide various "luck" bonuses. Crit damage, crit chance, some fortunate luck proc. Maybe even a chance to get a bonus drop or extra plat.

Alchemist: Potions, isn't it obvious? Something like proc fire breathing might be funny. Or a proc stoneskin ability. Something that isn't already available as a potion. Or even something that would force all of your DPS to become a fixed damage type (or remove all types from your damage?). Or a bonus to a damage type?
    Alyndrys and Prissetta like this.
