If you're looking for a fun, free to play MMO to try out for those days that you are not feeling like playing EQ2 or when the servers are down for patching, you should come and give Rift a try. Rift is definitely great for a f2p player I been meaning to go back, I have a bit over 300 hours in that game. I would love to check out the new expansion, but I never even got finished with the last one! I tend to make new characters a lot on that game, so many options in character progression, I wanna try them all! lol. Plus a friend recently dragged me over to a different server, so I am only level 30 something now
