I just hit 95 on my monk (haven't really played since before the first expansion so it has been quite a while) and am kind of lost on where to go. There doesn't seem to be much information on where to start working on progression gear or certain benchmarks/priorities for stats we need. Maybe I just suck at searching, so if anybody could point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it.

lol talk about a troll.. stay monk the grass is greener.

you're not going to find a "casual" monk write up anywhere just raid monk stuff but you can always look up a monk that you feel is doing good on eq2u.

Since I assume you have 320 AA on top of being lvl 95… I will start from there.

Before you start ANYTHING u need to have your Epic Weapon completed and Epic Conversion

First you need to get through the full CoE and CS quest lines. Start with this Sig quest http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Shades_of_Drinal_Timeline . and after that just do all of the quests in http://eq2.zam.com/wiki/Cobalt_Scar_(EQ2_Quest_Series) . after this quest set work through this HQ http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Waters_of_Norrath .

After all of that soloing, start grouping and get a lot of the Greater Spirits and Obols so u can get geared from the Steward Merchint in Obol Plains. At this point you will have gear about equal to Easy Mode raid gear.

    As for AA/Prestige/other things.
For Soloing and just DPSing I would recommend something in the neighborhood of http://u.eq2wire.com/soe/aap/468151591623/2/
For grouping and Easy Raiding I would recommend something in the neighborhood of http://u.eq2wire.com/soe/aap/468151591623/1/

There are a lot of things I would change based on “Normal” Group setup and player preference, but over all these should be a good start until you get to know the Monk better. Monks is a very fun and rewording class, but it is going to take a lot of work to get there.

If you have any specific questions you can post here, PM me, or get me in Game at Crushbone.Silzin

Edit: also the stats you want to work on in Order would be... CC till about 420, Ability Reuse, Weapon Skills, STR, Casting/Recovery Speed. Try and get a 2nd set of Gear you can Adorn with AoE auto for the zones you need more of that.

list other tank class stats/abilities in book format and explain that you cant tank because other classes buttons are better then yours.

    kidding kidding!

All kidding aside.. It's a fun class, enjoy it.
But i must warn you I am guessing brawlers will be nerfed fairly hard. You see in the raid zones they made the mob damage favor avoidance tanks. The dev's just boost mob auto attack higher and higher and higher further amplifying any disparity in avoiding a hit vs mitigating a hit. So this class will always have a bulls-eye on its head unless they change how raid mobs do damage. Yes, raiding influences the solo and heroic game unfortunately.

If you can handle that.. play it :) Just telling you the honest truth.

i missed MA out of the list of starts, i would put it after CC and before Reuse, until you get up to 600. when you are high end Raid Geared then you may want to try and hit 1k MA... i did not since i give up to much dps for it

Silzin did a great reply and I agree with him... BUT

If you are really bored. Start with BGs, get some pvp gear and then transfer to naggy as Monks do very well in pvp. And it will keep you from being bored while you are doing all the quests Silzin suggested:)

Enjoy, I have both a bruiser and monk but enjoy monk better.

Skip all of those timelines and just BG and/or transfer to Nagafen until the new xpac. It's better than anything else outside of raiding and far more fun. Heck, make a new toon on Nagafen and just rack up the tokens, enjoying a different type of gameplay until the new xpac. You won't have anything to lose, all of these timelines and PVE gear will be irrelevant after new xpac plus you'd have tokens for a new set if you decided to transfer (either to or off Naggy.)

Just think about it. Nothing more annoying than doing days worth of questing and find the rewards are worthless by the time you are done.
