the quest does NOT state "use some non-obvious crystal as your only means to leave."
the quest states "attempt to ESCAPE."
that statement leads one to who is not possessed of fear to thoughtfully consider their options "which ways can I leave this area?"
option 1: use Adventure Class-specific skills (Escape, Summon Spire, Summon Ring, et al.)
option 2: use Tradeskill Tools (Call of Shade potion, Artisan epic, Totem of Escape, et al.)
option 3: use (albeit Immersion-breaking, non-Role Play) Game UI tool (Fast Travel, et al.)

As a consideration of this Role-Play environment, and to lead the player to the arbitrarily singular means of leaving(again, why?) there could have been an NPC using /beckon to direct player to said crystal with statements like "look here! we brought this with, so we can escape using Crystal of Soandso!"

How about a dose of Real World to emphasize point?
What say you to HR stopping Direct Deposit and establish Paper Checks MAILED to,...

    "a metal box."

    GO!

oh, darn, while that one USPS Post Office does have a box number 101,.. so sahwee,.. your key does not work!
Maybe a different USPS PO in near-by zip?
    is it FedEx?
    how about UPS?
    somewhere else?
better start a wiki,.. because HR will look at you askance for not reading their mind for which carrier they used to mail your check.

case in point of Adventure venue, the Heroic zone in Wrecklands with the rotating ramp to get to the three switches(i forget name),... one has to GUESS how many this way, how many that way,.. and when they get it wrong, oh, look ADDS! "how dare you not READ the mind(s) of the DEVs and get this right THE. FIRST. TIME!"

this quest phraseology( as well as much in EQ2 presently ) present requirements of READING MINDS, and a-typically, Punishes The Victim for guessing WRONG at the vague & ambiguous guidance. (narcissism much?)

so do we continue a Rational conversation,
    or
do you loose the Sycophants of War so that you need not be bothered?

Are you *trying* to get yourself banned from the forums?

You consistently whine about wording on things that everyone else manages to figure out without having to justify to themselves that they're smarter than everyone else because they found a single word that COULD mean something specific but OBVIOUSLY does not, and then make posts like this where everyone else knows you're just trying to be a jerk.

I don't, in any way, understand what other ideology could be behind this. 'I thought I found a way to trick your quest and it didn't work, so you need to fix your quest!' is not a logical response.

Whether or not you like how the quest is worded, does not make it bugged. It works exactly how it is supposed to, which means it is not bugged.

Again, this is not, not, NOT a "bug" ... this is a player presenting feedback in the wrong spot, and re-presenting it when the first post was LOCKED by a developer

If you have FEEDBACK on wording that you want to nitpick in such a manner, it goes in the Feedback forum, instead of doing all sort of word tricks to make it sound like a world-ending bug that must be fixed right this very moment. It does not belong in the bug forum, stirring up unnecessary drama.

The sarcasm, snarkiness, etc. is also very not-needed, non-productive and not welcome. It harms your chances of having your feedback heard and responded to because of your presentation manner.

    So please, stop.

If you have feedback, present it as well-mannered feedback, without the drama, snarking, lecturing and role-playing. The bug and feedback forums are for real-world people, not in-game personas, to present concise constructive feedback instead of forcing someone to wade through your whole rp report in order to figure out that your real issue is a simple feedback of "this word could be misleading to someone who is very literal-minded"

Is that so difficult? Does it need the high horse and the lecturing? No. That is not you initiating a conversation, but you coming in with combative accusations.

    Don't waste our time, please.

The more time you waste in this manner, the less time we have to actually address issues, AND the less likely we are to actually give ANY of your posts any credence.
