Acquiring Status Point Mercenaries

    Recently I was able to get over 1,000,000 status points after finishing some quests so I went to the Rogue's Gallery in Freeport to acquire a mercenary that is listed as selling for 1,000,000 status points in the Everquest 2 Wiki.

    After interacting with the mercenary in the Rogues Gallery at Freeport I was unable to acquire the mercenary.

    I was wondering what are the other requirements for someone acquiring a mercenary for status points?


    When I went through the forums there was mention of getting a mercenary coin/mercenary feature from the Marketplace. When I opened up the Marketplace I saw Mercenary bundles. I did not see any mercenary coin or mercenary feature that enables someone to purchase a mercenary for status points in the game. I was wondering when and where would a mercenary coin/mercenary feature be available for acquiring mercenaries for status points?

    That's how much status you get if you sell them. Not what it costs to buy them...

    As an example when I go to the Rogues Gallery and look up Geldia Hammerwind ( https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Geldia_Hammerwind ), Lady Gretta Cheroon ( https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Lady_Gretta_Cheroon ) and Warrick Vale-Striker ( https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Warrick_Vale-Striker ) it will mention "...is common and sells for 1,000,000 status" Therefore according to the EverQuest 2 Wiki mercenaries in the Rogues Gallery can be purchased using status points.

    "Geldia Hammerwind is common and sells for 1,000,000 status."


    Also from the Wiki at https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Mercenary_Crates :

    "If you do not want to hire the mercenaries you get from the marketplace, the coins can be sold for 1,000,000 - 6,000,000 status points".

    So from the way that this reads the mercenaries can be purchased for status points and that selling mercenary coins from mercenaries in the marketplace are for the purposes of getting status points which can afterwards be used for purchasing mercenaries from the Rogues Gallery.

    You are misunderstanding.

    "If you do not want to hire the mercenaries you get from the marketplace, the coins can be sold for 1,000,000 - 6,000,000 status points".

    Means:

    If you BUY a merc from the marketplace, and do NOT want to ACTIVATE IT for USE, you can instead SELL IT FOR STATUS.

    The coins can be SOLD for 1mill to 6 mill status not BOUGHT....

    Sold != Bought
