yea I think Breanna got bitten by one of those spiders that was radioactive and now she's a she hulk with spider woman powers I think she stuck ttobey to that same ceiling where all those spiders came from and than she caught up with the bus
by swinging through town on web blasts .
I can just picture that a she hulk swinging through town :D

We still have miniature golf in Michigan. At our shop we actually cut a bunch of the stuff they use for the course's.

At least Ttobey is again relaxing and having fun on the ROAD TRIP, even if it means that others constantly have to save the trip or members of the trip!!!

    Colorado Springs :
" Seven Falls " as the name suggests Seven Falls is a series of seven beautiful waterfalls in Broadmoor. the approach to the
falls is called " the Grandest Mile of Scenery " the falls are 181 feet in height combined and each has their own name , the shortest is called " Shorty " you can climb up to the top of the falls on a steep staircase .
" Cheyenne Mountain Nuclear Bunker " this is mostly information about location , because all you can do is view the place from the road.
" May Natural History Museum " turn of Colorado Highway 115 at the oversized model of the west Indian Hercules Beatle,
drive through the RV park beyond the gift shop and the tiki warrior gods you will fins case after case exhibiting nearly 8000
specimens from the world class extraordinary collection of James May, who traveled the world searching for rare and beautiful bugs.
There are hundreds of species of butterfly some the size of birds , moths , beetle , centipedes , Spiders some bigger than a mans hand , scorpions ,and many others.
" the Airplane Restaurant " This intact Boing KC- 97 tanker - one of the largest propeller driven aircraft ever made - was once used for refueling missions in Europe. In 2002 this airplane found a second life as the premier aviation restaurant in the US The giant gas tank was removed and the interior was turned into a long narrow dinning room.
"Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun" The tall stone tower was completed in 1937. During the construction , the tall spire did not have a name , but as it was built , cowboy humorist Will Rogers tragically died in a plane crash. Rogers happened to be close
friends with the creator of the tower Spencer Penrose. Spencer wanted to honor his friend and decided to dedicate the monument to the famed humorist. Standing 80 feet high the tower has 5 floors, the ground floor displays a mural depicting
local history. Three of the floors celebrate the life of Will Rogers and the basement - level shrine where the ashes of Penrose
    and his wife are interred.
The view from the tower is breathtaking .
" Tuberculosis huts " Little teepee- like huts can be found all over town , they used to be part of sanatoriums to help people recover from tuberculosis before antibiotics were available. It was believed that lots of dry fresh air , good water and rest would help . so people were housed in little huts with windows you could leave open , a bed ad some other simple furniture.
" Star Kempf's Kinetic Sculptures" the moving metal works of one troubled artist can still be seen on his front Lawn ..... for now .
" Colorado Springs pioneers Museum" This museum is dedicated to the history of the Southwest and more specifically Colorado Springs. The building used to be a courthouse and the first place using a jawbone to identify a murder victim . The museum has a small but excellent, collection of Victorian " fancy craft" . a collection of hair wreaths that are incredibly
elaborate and it is not immediately obvious that they're made of actual human hair.
" Rock Ledge Ranch Historic site" This working farm and museum is conveniently located at the entrance to The Garden of the Gods . As a living history farm , the 200 acre ground depict the lives of those who homesteaded, hunted ,and lived
in the area. From the late 1700's to the early 1900's . See an American Indian tipi , a one room log cabin ,a restored apple orchard from the 1800's and an Edwardian Dutch Colonial country estate.
" Miramonte Castle " ( Manitou Springs) go for a castle tour and than attend a High tea , or a Light Victorian Tea party .
" World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame " This is the only figure skating museum in the world .
" Hot Air Balloon Rides " launches from south Park Valley go for a ride on a balloon and enjoy a home made breakfast afterwards.
" Space Foundation Discovery Center " this interactive museum allows people of all ages to learn hands on everything about from how a spacesuit works to how to grow food on the moon .

and now I give up on finding anything else , to much to see , to much to do , to much , to eat or drink ok where is my bed ?

I am afraid to look up what's fun in Denver .
  10. Geroblue Well-Known Member

I think gasping for air in Denver, its a mile above sea level, would be what folks who aren't used to the elevation would be most concerned about. I've been to Albequerque, NM and its hard to breathe there.

Museums I like, Space I like, where is the foooood ?
  11. Schmetterling Well-Known Member

how about the Airplane restaurant ? you can eat where ta giant gas tank used to be
  12. ttobey Makes the Monsters Move

Yea that's good. I left a plate of skittles in the waiting area for you all before I'm off for the weekend. Help yourselves and let me know which color skittles you choose. Taste the rainbow!

    Good Afternoon ROAD TRIPPERS!!!

Today is our last day in Colorado Springs. So far this morning, we have been to the Western Museum of Mining and Industry. They have a few interactive displays, as well as an Assay Office Display, an 1895 Corliss Steam Engine, a Skinner Automatic Engine, a Chilean Miner's Rescue Pod, some Walk-Through Mine-Shafts, mineral displays, a working Blacksmith shop and ore mill. Their goal is to preserve the knowledge and history of mining and industry and show people the importance of it in their daily lives. It was definitely an interesting museum.

We have also been to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. I thought this would be vastly different from the other museums we have visited. This one has exhibits showing the last 100 years of clothing and equipment used in Pro Rodeo as well as rooms for the various inductees such as Champion Bull Riders, Champion Bucking Bronc Riders, Champion Ropers, etc. Each of the inductees has a placard with a history of their accomplishments. Then outside there is a Rodeo Pavilion where we were able to watch some Pro Rodeo exhibitions. Then there was a stable pavilion where they have retired Pro Rodeo animals, which have been donated to the Hall of Fame. A bucking bull can cost as much as $500,000.00 and a bucking bronco can cost as much as $200,000.00!!! These prices are on par with race horses!! No animal is allowed to be used in a Pro Rodeo event if it has not been cleared by the Veterinarians on the day they are to be used, any illnesses or injuries, and they will be pulled from their respective events. These animals are cared for in a most exceptional manner. There is a team of vets on staff 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week to make sure that if they become ill or injured they are treated immediately. Overall this was a fantastic place to visit and very informative, I had no idea that the bulls and horses cost this much.

Right now we are on lunch break in Colorado Springs at Perk Downtown Coffee and Tea House. After lunch, we will be visiting The Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum, The May Museum of Natural History, The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey, and The Ghost Town Museum.

I have scheduled cocktail hour for 6:30 pm and dinner for 7:30 pm at Sportivo Primo, which is the full service restaurant and bar in our hotel. Then we can just relax and enjoy the amenities, stay in the bar and chat, whatever we want to do.

Tomorrow, we will be porting to Primm, Nevada. This is where Schmet found the Bonnie and Clyde death car on display in Whisky Pete's Casino. They also have Dutch Schultz's car on display in this casino, but he did not die in his car, he died in a urinal. We will only be spending Saturday in Primm, Nevada. Tomorrow, I will let you know where we are going on Sunday, we are almost at the end of our SUMMER ROAD TRIP!!!

*casts the group speed buff, double checks the time delays, passes out new hats to everybody with a miniature solar system on them and when you push a green button on the bill the planets revolve around the sun (I had these made after our planetarium visit), stealth's over and puts Ttobey's new hat on him and pushes the green button before stealthing back to her spot, looks back and gives a thumbs up, shouts*

Lets move on out ROAD TRIPPERS, we have some cool bikes to see!!!!

I'm with Gero! Space Foundation Discovery Center! :D

(Another advantage of hanging with Gero is that lovely collection of space vehicles...even if we're the only ones hitting a place, we can always catch up to the group! :D)

And I didn't know that about rodeo animals, either; I'm very glad to see they take it so seriously (big money, obviously ;->). I know there's various animal rights groups that get upset about the whole thing, but I've rarely, if ever, heard of any of the animals being abused, especially at the bigger venues. There are LOTS of anti-cruelty rules that abound for that, above and beyond state laws. :)

Rodeos, and Westerns, way back when, the animals were not cared for.

I know the rodeo clowns lead a tough life to.

Space, the Final Dance, uhm, you know what I mean.

Any way, I have this bicycle. We all sit in easy chairs, and peddle it. Have to watch the throttle though, it can make Alpha Cetauri A-B solar system in just a couple of days. If I go too fast, we get back before we left.

Natural History museum, maybe some of my ancestors are on exhibit ? :)

    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!

Today is an unusual porting day. Instead of porting to Primm, Nevada first thing this morning, I thought we would go to the Space Foundation Discovery Center first. I obviously missed this on Schmet's list when I made the itinerary and would hate to leave Colorado without seeing it!!! We can spend all morning here and port to Primm, Nevada around 1 pm local time and then have lunch.

After extensive research, we will not be spending the night in Primm, Nevada *shudders*, but instead, will be porting to Reno, about 5:30 pm and checking into our hotel there which will be the Peppermill Resort Hotel, we are all booked into the Royal Suites. We have these rooms through Wednesday night. We can use Reno as our Nevada home base and port to various locales to see our sights. Must sees on our list are Burning Man tomorrow night, so that we can see Asyn, a friend of Rosy, Schmet, Raz (he has not been comfortable saying anything yet), and I, he will be fire hooping every night during Burning Man from tomorrow night through 02 September. Area 51 is on our list as this fits in with our Space and Alien theme, the National Atomic Testing Museum, the Neon Boneyard, Fly Geyser, Rhyolite Ghost Town, the National Pinball Museum, the Round Mountain Gold Mine (I have a cousin and her husband that work here), Royal Peacock Black Fire Opal Mine (you can mine for your own Black Fire Opals here), Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the National Bowling Stadium, and Tikaboo Peak (the closest place you can legally get to Area 51 from).

I have scheduled cocktail hour for 6 pm and dinner for 7 pm at the Atlantis Steakhouse. We will port to the Burning Man following Dinner. The fire hooping is at 9 pm local time. Then we will return to our hotel following the fire hooping.

*passes out 2 new hats to everybody with one with the Burning Man Effigy on it, the other with the Bonnie and Clyde Death Car on it, asks Uwkete to stealth over and put one of Ttobey's new hats on him, points to the table which has a bunch of hat boxes on it in case people need more hat boxes, casts the group speed buff, readjusts the time delays and relocks the security cover and shouts*

Alright ROAD TRIPPERS we have more of the Space Foundation Discovery Center to explore before we head to Primm, Nevada, so we better get moving.

wow never heard of that geyser before looked it up , wow that thing looks cool

As Uwk sneaks back from be-hatting Tubey, chortling all the way, one phrase catches the ear:

"Royal Peacock Black Fire Opal Mine (you can mine for your own Black Fire Opals here)"

As Uwk has VERY expensive tastes in opals (very, very...mere diamonds are just too boring in comparison [and, they say, opals are bad luck for anyone whose birthstone they aren't...the rest of y'all can keep on thinking that, honest...be my guest... ;->]), that's yet another hat that's gonna be wanted... :D

    https://www.royalpeacock.com/

We have our own vehicles to stay in, right? :D
