can't log in

    I've been trying to log in for the last hour or so, and every single time (be it with the Steam install, or another install off my hard drive), I get this error

    "Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

    well, after doing a full file check, validating the files, or whatever on the advance tab, and having to reset my screen resolution, I can play again..

    Not sure which exact solution ended up working for you, but validating files can often fix a number of problems for players experiencing crashes or other issues like this. In any case, I'm glad things got sorted out!
