Is Celestial Teachings locked behind the tradeskill mount?

My understanding is you wont actually receive the recipes without the achievements. Anyhow clearly the devs motivation here is to control the supply of ascension recipes by limiting them to main characters only. They are actively preventing people with armies of alts, completing 20 weeklys every week and obtaining too many ascension recipes and flooding the market with them. Its a revenue stream and they are a business, hardly surprising.

The outrage and uproar is quite normal but people need to get used to the fact that there are elements of the game you can speed up with real world cash and those that spend that real world cash are keeping the game you are playing alive. You should tank those that spend a lot of money on premium editions and ascension upgrades because without them, there may be no game left for you to play.

This made me sincerely laugh :) Thank you!

But can you describe please what would be the preferred one?

The components that you used to get from clicking stuff in the zones have been moved to the final boss as drops. You cannot get more than one per chest and if they drop they will be controllable with need/greed options etc. like everything else that drops.

No we cannot because that is similar to asking "Mr Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll, Tootsie Pop?" The answer is the same "the world may never know".

You sir, are showing your misunderstanding of the problem, and would do us all a favor if you'd either get a clue about what the uproar is about, or keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.

I receive the recipes almost every single day, as do most of us, the broker is flooded with them. But to craft the item you need the component... the very thing this thread was made about. The component you can only get if you have finished the mount quest.

    No.

But using that logic, then the preferred customer wouldn't even be running HC's for these things, as they'd just buy their way past the grind.

That said, this topic seems to have gone all which ways... Arguing about how "Necessary" certain things are to justify poor mechanics...

Meanwhile, the core of the entire debate is thus:

This is a game. Games are primarily supposed to be fun.

People who play MMO's, find progressing with their character fun (That's generally the whole idea behind creating your own character. To raise it from a lowly level 1 nublet to a max level dragon riding, god killing hero that every NPC sings about your exploits with).

Relying on RNG to even have a CHANCE to progress, is decidedly not fun. Even more so, RNG can be easily recreated for free (Go grab a die and keep rolling it. Whenever you roll a 6, you get a point. Yaay RNG simulations!)

If given a choice, most people would opt for time consuming over RNG, because even if it on average takes longer, you will always feel like you're progressing (As well as minimizing factors that could limit you further. Such as if you were to try and continually PuG for these random drops)

In addition, being forced into an area of the game you don't care for also is decidedly not fun. If you wanna see exactly how much, try and add a PvP requirement to Epic 3.0 and see Discord explode from all the vitriol that would get thrown at it.

So, forcing Crafting grinds on the Adventurers and Heroic runs on the Crafters is also, not really anyone's first, or even last, choice of game design when it comes to fun.

If you want to entice people out of their comfort zone, do it by luring people with nice stuff. Don't force them to do it against their will (That's actually some advice that can serve you well in various aspects of life... Such as dating. You're more likely to find a GF/BF by using charm and personality than by using rohypnol...)

If people are having fun, they're more likely to WANT to pay you. Heck, this has been Valve's main source of income for a while... Selling cosmetics in TF2/Dota 2 (Games that cost literally $0 to play) because they make them fun and then people then WANT to buy stuff for the game they're enjoying.

I'll stop here though... I don't want to circle back into my previous "Whomever is doing the economics at video game businesses are dumber than a pile of bricks that failed art college" by talking about how making a FUN game > making a "PROFITABLE" game and then cycling back to the evidence of various games, such as WoW, making incredulous amounts more money when they were being made to provide entertainment rather than trying to just be wallet vacuums at the cost of enjoyment...

Thats a very good start, please consider unlocking the component for all of us, the mount by itself is enough of a reward for those who finish the quest.

will tower breach and Gears get drops too?
  11. Errrorr An Actual EQ2 Player

    Much appreciated.

Will this also mean all 3 drops are available in the relevant zones? Or will Gears for example still only drop the Sillocorosive grease and not the other 2?
  12. Gninja Developer

All of the tier1 and tier2 heroics (non-event) will drop all 3 of the items on their final boss.

Will we still be guaranteed 1 drop per zone? Right now we either get the chest drop or one of the two harvests.

You are now my favourite gnomish dev. Ty.

I would suggest that you add these to the final boss of event heroics as well. This would make all the zones worth doing and not just the easier t1's which in most cases are quicker than the EH zones. This would also encourage more grouping as people currently are doing small groups (3-4) to minimize the chances they will lose the component to others. Its hard enough to find groups but opening the drops to all zones should help the amount of groups being run.

lol ok the celestial whatever they are called, the major component. The recipes are basically trash.
  18. Enigma Active Member

Does this mean its gonna be 100% drop rate? Cause there is always a tradeskill material in the zone no matter if its a drop or clicky.

Glad to see that you also think the recipes are trash, and not really a reward...

Jeez calm down, its only a game. The recipes are trash.
