Invisible characters due to purchasing expansion. >:-/

    Rest assured, I didn't get it for the highest level stuff; I don't care about it, either. ;->

    Still trying to think about why I got it...possibly because after all the discounts, it cost me like $15 and change. Plus, I was debating last time really long and hard about who was gonna get the free level 100 boost they offered us (can't recall if it was part of an expansion I got [ToT? AoM?] or just an offer): my Thurgadin main Carpenter or my Halls of Fate Carpy. I eventually went with the Thurgadin server first, and I think it's one reason why I got KA, the Standard Edition, to be able to use the "other" level 100 boost on my other Carpy, for less than half the price I'd have to spend for a character upgrade. ;->

    I got the KA upgrade for lots of reasons: again, it was pretty cheap (less than $25 after all the discounts); I could get an extra set of building block recipes (though I'm still ticked off that seems to be the only way to get them >:-/); I was hoping it would jar something loose for my US toons (which didn't work...sigh); and, y'know, free Prestige House... ;->

    Really, the only reason for having 100 level toons for me is a) for the XP bonus, and b) being able to harvest dang near anywhere I need to (though the Vesspyr Islands for Yun Zi's Week 8 still freaked me out with my level 100). ;->

    I guess I'm still pretty clueless about what all gets affected by an uninstall/reinstall...will it affect my Saved Layouts files? My Screenshots? My Character Logs (especially those, since that's evidence, that is...)? If I squirrel things away to keep them safe, if I move them back into the Everquest2 folder once I'm done reinstalling, will they still work? :-/

    Also: I have 3 Regions in 2 folders, with their associated desktop icons: US/Test in one, and EU in another. Will doing one uninstall take care of all of them and clear them all out at once?

    Yes, indeed, please do yowl at them, Cyrrena. I CAN'T EVEN GET INTO THE GAME NOW. I used to be able to, but now, no matter WHERE my US Live Region toons were when they logged out (though I do think The Sundered Frontier may be tricky these days), they get in for about a second or two, not even long enough for the Welcome to EQ2! window to come up, and get IMMEDIATELY booted back to their non visible existence in Character Select.

    I'll try the ol' .exe workaround, but this is rapidly becoming not tolerable. >:-/

    EDIT: Nope, the ol' .exe workaround didn't work. X-P

    So layouts, logs, and screenshots,... just move those folders somewhere safe and then move them back after the reinstall is done.

    Gosh, I dunno about multiple regions. I have folders for Test,Live, and (occasionally) Beta. When I am doing Beta, I start the install, stop the Launcher, copy over the /paks and /music, then start the install again. I don't know what that wouldn't work for EU or regular test.

    Firstly, there's nothing in Kunark Ascending that should have made your characters disappear or you unable to log in at all. Secondly, can you try to run the game again and then look in your logs folder (EverQuest 2 Install Location/logs/) and paste the contents of your latest client_log (Should be formatted like client_log [date]).

    One wouldn't think so, but since they were loading just fine literally the same day right before I got the initial expansion (and I probably should've fixed the problem somehow before upgrading, but...), my whiskers were twitching... :-/

    Paste the log...where? Here, and/or in the petition ticket I've got open? :)

    EDIT: Ah! I've got the folder open, am looking at the Logs directory right now, and there's three files I'm seeing (plus, many subfolders, one for each of my servers [including Stormhold, though I don't have any toons there any more, or any logs within beyond 09/21]):

    vvs-2017.08.12.log
    vvs-2017.08.13.log
    vvs-2017.08.14.log

    all with date/time info corresponding to their names. Could that be the issue, that nothing was actually progressing past those dates? Should I paste the most recent one?

    Well, I'm no expert, but after awhile, even I can detect repeating patterns. I won't keep filling up pages with this (unless specifically requested to), but I will add the whole file into the petition. :-/

    Heh! Tell me something I don't know... ;->

    At one point, I was taking classes at my local community college to maybe be a programmer at some point, but all I really got was about a year's worth of different computer languages. Not the same thing at all. ;->
