UNKNOWN POWERS?!

An easy first step would be to go to the proving grounds, as others have recommended. There is the option of doing the group one, but if your group is struggling you may want to try the solo. The solo doesn't depend on your gear or spec because you play while controlling an avatar. There is a video walk through of how to complete the solo in 8-10 minutes.

You get 14 tokens per solo run, so you would be able to get the ring in less than 10 runs. Also if you pick up the quests outside the entrance you can get a famaliar and then get additional tokens for completing the weekly. Besides the ring there are also decent legs and gloves.
