    Cool! :)

Yeah, the waterbowl head would probably be really tough to re-create, even using textures. ;->

I could have done it, just more of a design decision, like making a troll for instance, everyone has a trillion interpretations of what that means. I made a friendly old wise man kappa once, he dressed like a japanese farmer and had a stubby little tail.

oh, I thought that was a backpack or bag hanging off the guy's back. It isn't really distinguishable as being a turtle shell, at least from the view the image is taken. I'm not familiar with Japanese folklore, so I haven't heard of the kappa before. I'll look it up on wiki :)

Yeah, usually the shell isn't all that obvious on a kappa; it was a bit more so in the Hellboy animated movie so the audience could tell what was going on there with that shell. ;->

I mean, there is no definitive kappa like there is no definitive - insert mythological creature here-. Ancient paintings show them with giant shells, some show them with no shells. I decided to go with an inbetween.

Too bad i ran out of polys, i would have made a wicker basket filled with cucumbers =(

    I always liked this one

Here is a basic texture for a newbie level home, for those on the new servers who may want something that goes with your homes, do you want me to modify the color, desaturate it a bit, make it more brown?

can you make the top of the steps a much darker wood then the rest of it, and the hand part of the railing?

That's actually pretty cute! Is that the one you patterned your earlier "nice old man"-type kappa on? :)

Nah but if i ever do make another one its gonna be a more cartoony friendly one based off this. I really like how the artists from back then made this look more in tune with how he made this one still very animal like but gave it an intelligent look.

No , just to differentiate between wood styles and make it look better to the eye, also more constructed and less solid.

( it would also go really well with the interior of the manor i made)

These are very nice! They may work a little better in the newbie homes if they were a bit more ash in color.

I've started fiddling around with Blender, maybe someday I'll be able to create some wonderful items like you guys do.

This is what these stairs might look like, what do you think?
(They have similar edge on the steps in the Halas homes.)
