Desert Bus was one of the mini-games in there, I didn't do anything on that but was working on the other mini games. We mocapped Penn and Teller before there was mocap. :)

    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!!

I think Ttobey put in some kind of time delay mute bomb on me as nothing I posted yesterday is showing in any thread!!! Not even my counting for Ttobey yesterday and I didn't copy anything from any thread to any other thread!!! But oh well, today is a new day!! You are lucky Ttobey, Penn and Teller are fantastic!!!

Its Monday and we are now in Biloxi, Mississippi at Margaritaville Resort. We will stay here through Wednesday night. Today we are visiting the Lighthouse that was partially destroyed by Katrina but has been restored. Then the rest of the day we can enjoy a lot of the things that Margaritaville has to offer to us. Everybody has a welcome kit in their rooms. I absolutely adore Jimmy Buffet, as I told you before, just days before my mum passed away, she gave me a Jimmy Buffet CD, which was the last gift she gave me, so Jimmy Buffet holds a special place in my heart. And as such, I got everybody these *passes out parrot hats to everybody* we are all now official Parrot Heads, we are all enrolled in the Jimmy Buffet Parrot Head Club!!!

The resort has a huge Waterpark with a 450 Foot lazy river, waterslides, The 5 O' Clock Somewhere Bar, The Landshark Bar and Grill, The Sweet Shack (Ice Cream, Lemonade, Fresh Fruit Purees, and more), a 55,000 Sq Foot Fun Center with an Arcade, A 48 Foot Volcano Rock Wall, Bowling, An Indoor Cloud Coaster, Multi-Game Virtual Sports Simulators, Sky Trail Ropes Course, and an Exit Reality Virtual Reality Game Zone.

I have booked us cocktail hour tonight at 6 pm at The 5 O' Clock Somewhere Bar and dinner at 7 pm at The Landshark Bar and Grill, dessert at 8:30 pm at The Sweet Shack *grins*.

Tomorrow morning at 9 am, I have us scheduled to tour the Mardi Gras Museum in Bixoli and the Shrimping Museum in Biloxi at 2 pm.

I need to go through Schmet's lists and find the other things for Biloxi or Mississippi to give you the heads up for Wednesday.

Now lets finish enjoying the history of this lighthouse and all the work that went into restoring it.

*casts the group speed buff, puts her parrot hat on, stealths over and puts Ttobey's parrot hat on him, checks the time delays, and motions for the group to rally around the Lighthouse*

    "Awwwk ! Pretty bird !"

Ah, a talking hat. Methinks this would be great elsewhere... in oh, a game maybe.

And a huge game center ! Oooh, I know what I'm going to do !

( In RL I don't do well with arcade games, but this is virtual.)

    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!

Raz, if you are lurking, come on in and join the ROAD TRIP and have some fun with us!!!

Its Tuesday and our second day in Biloxi, Mississippi. Here we are at the Mardi Gras Museum. Mardi Gras in Mississippi is much different than in New Orleans. The museum is actually housed in an old Plantation House. Its fabulous. Mardi Gras in Mississippi as in Alabama runs from around Thanksgiving to Fat Tuesday which is the day before Ash Wednesday. In New Orleans, Mardi Gras runs from the 12th day of Christmas to Fat Tuesday. In all of the other Gulf Port Cities that celebrate Mardi Gras, it is much more family oriented than it is in New Orleans. There are still adult activities like Costume Balls at night, but most of the activities are family oriented and occur during the day. I have also learned that we do not need to travel to the Maritime and Seafood Museum as this Museum is a stop on their train, so we can catch a ride on their train when it passes through and get to our next stop. It will be earlier that our tour is scheduled but according to the people I spoke to, they will do our tour when the train arrives with us aboard.

We will have enough time after the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum tour to go to the Russell C Davis Planetarium. The Show there is at 5 pm and ends at 6:30 pm. I cannot wait, thank you Schmet for finding this!!!!

I have scheduled cocktail hour for 7 pm and dinner for 8 pm at Adventures Pub and Spirits in Biloxi, Mississippi. I think this place will have something for everybody and it has great reviews. A lot of local dishes as well as burgers and steak for those that are not quite so adventurous when eating or do not like or cannot eat shellfish or seafood.

Tomorrow is our last day in Biloxi, I thought we might take a day trip to Jackson, Mississippi and see the Capital, The Museum of Natural Science, and if we can squeeze it in, The Rock and Blues Museum and the Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum, all suggested by Schmet.

Thursday, we are off to Huntsville, Alabama. We will be there from Thursday through Saturday. Our first stop on Thursday is the US Space and Rocket Center, YAY!!!!! And, wait for it, Space Camp!!!!!! Friday morning, we have a tour at Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum at 9 am. Friday night, we will be porting to Birmingham for The Birmingham Ghost Walk - Hotels, Churches, and Riots at 7:30 and porting back in time for the Zombie Scavenger Game at 10 pm!!!!

More to come on our Alabama adventure later!!!

*passes out hats with a lobster, a crawfish, and a shrimp on top to everybody, stealths over and puts Ttobeys Seafood hat on him and giggles snarkily, casts the group speed buff, checks the time delays and readjusts them a bit, the shouts*

Lets go ROAD TRIPPERS, we have a lot to see here in Biloxi and we aim to see it all!!! *shouts over to her friend Jim* Heya Yard Dog, keep your eyes peeled on that Ratonga, he is being shifty today, he has something nefarious planned!!!

My siblings and I used to spend lots of quarters in the arcade. Some V-shaped game, don't remember its name. If I got to second level I was happy.

    SPACE CAMP!!! :D

Can we get hats with rockets or something on them? Did Jimmy Buffet grow up anywhere near Huntsville, and that's why he's so enamored of the space program (the /Beach House on the Moon/ album was something I always thought was yet another "fake title" [and to think, /Three Days of the Condor/ had nothing to do with large endangered flying scavengers; that film around the same time, something with /Tiger/ in the title, was just another stupid spy thing instead of being about large feline predators...I was a very disappointed kid and got very cynical about titles after that], but after sampling the title song on Amazon, I immediately bought it ["There are relics from Apollo trips//When the Earthmen came to play"]. /Songs from St. Somewhere/ also has a song on there, "The Rocket That Grandpa Rode"...another instant buy :D)? :)

    Uwk
who rocks at pinball games, if I do say so myself... ;->
  13. Geroblue Well-Known Member

Eye of the Tiger maybe ?

Space camp ! I always wanted to go,
but they told me it wasn't in orbit,
    nor on the Moon,
It was just on the ground.

Sigh, but I can go virtually.

Spin and twirl on the 3 axis spinner and looper ! Hurrah !

More info on Evermore (Utah) for our Road Trip! ;)
  15. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

That looks so cool...sigh. Like a constant Renn Faire, only fantasy-based. Sigh...wish we had the low land prices to be able to do that in California. :)

    Uwk
who can at least enjoy it virtually on the tour! :D
Rosyposy, Breanna and Cyrrena like this.

Ah, no, it was /Save the Tiger/, and that one had actually come out earlier than /Three Days of the Condor/; I was misremembering the order. And apparently the "tiger" movie wasn't a spy thing, but some serious adult drama thing that had nothing to do with a nature documentary. Hmph. :-/

    Uwk
    still disappointed

Pinball machines.. Yeah, I remember some of th guytts being very good at almost hitting the tilt mechanism and shutting off the machine.

Me, if I did anything other than tap lightly the flipper buttons it tilted and shut off. I hated losing that 25 cents.

Took the bus to the next town for my job. The people that worked in the bus depot hated us playing pinball, so some days they would just shut it off before I got there. I played it for about 10 minutes, then my bus arrived. Its not like I played for hours. Ah well, that building doesn't exist anymore.

If I wanted some recreational stuff from back then, it would be one of the bubbler Wurlitzers. I doubt I have the money for one though.

    Good Afternoon ROAD TRIPPERS!!!

Wednesday here we are!!! Our last day in Biloxi and at Margaritaville. This morning we saw the Capital Building in Jackson and the Natural Science Museum, they were fantastic. I love to look at domed architecture and think about the people that built it especially when the buildings are more than 100 years old and they did not have the equipment available like we have today in order to build the domes. And I love anything and everything science, and that museum was top notch. I especially loved their mineral room, having a Master's degree in geology, that area appealed to me the most. I took archeology and anthropology courses, but I never really enjoyed looking at skeletal remains and such. So I spent most of my time this morning in the mineral room and looking at their fossilized plants and other fossils and geodes.

This afternoon after lunch, we will be visiting the Rock and Blues Museum and then the Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum. All of todays places to visit were suggested by Schmet and she has fantastic taste in sights to see!!! We will be back at Margaritaville by 5:00 pm so we will have time to shower and change and relax a bit, the shuttle for cocktail hour will leave at 5:45 pm.

I have scheduled cocktail hour for 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm at the Hard Rock Café in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi. We have a large group area reserved. I think everybody will like this, we haven't gone to a Hard Rock yet on any of our ROAD TRIPS!!! And who doesn't like to gamble when its Virtual Money? We will have 3 shuttles back to Margaritaville, the first at 9:30 pm, the second at 11 pm, and the last at midnight. If you miss the last shuttle, you will have to use your red button, so don't forget it, if you forget it, you will have to Uber/Lyft or Taxi.

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we are heading to Huntsville, Alabama!!! We are scheduled for Space Camp at 8 am sharp!!!!! Good thing we can port there! Space Camp is from 8 am until 2 pm. After Space Camp, we will have the rest of the day to explore the US Space and Rocket Center. At 6 pm we will leave the US Space and Rocket Center and check into our Hotel in Huntsville which is Embassy Suites Hotel and Spa - Huntsville, everybody has a 2 - room suite!!!! Its wonderful what you can do on a Virtual ROAD TRIP with Virtual Money!!

*casts the group speed buff, quickly finishes her lunch, glances over at Ttobey and giggles snarkily, makes a note to order hat boxes for everybody and hands the note off to a Cabana boy, double checks the time delays and shouts*

Alright ROAD TRIPPERS, we have a full afternoon and daylight is fading!!!!!
  19. ttobey Makes the Monsters Move

At the Elvis Museum, the weirdo crowd scrambles out of the bus. They gather around the Elvis statue only to realize it's an Alien Robot Simulacrum! And it has RUN AMOK! Oh the horror! Laser Eyes and Grappling Hook HANDS!!!! Tromp , Tromp it plods through the pile of people leaving bloody foot prints and settles back into it's stand. A whirring sound slowly silences as it Red eyes fade to darkness. Lights out for all the bus people, What a tragedy.

Fortunately, it was an Auton, and you know what they say about the Nestene Consciousness...easily defeatable by liquid anti-plastic! :D

Uwk gets out a vial of it that the Alchemists of the Uwkian Horde cooked up and hoses it thoroughly before it can get to our group! And mourns the losses of the other museum goers until it seems that they were just other shape-shifters...Slitheen, perhaps? ;->
