Fanning the Flames spell, fabled labs of lord vyemm

If you think it's fun when the script says 24 people and hits for 2 million... you'll love it when it bugs out saying ZERO people and hits for 7 million.

I have a fix in for next hotfix. Seems now that it can't be resisted its hitting a lot harder. Sorry about that!

Both times it hit 24 people, but either said 24 or 0.

Here's one from the end of an earlier pull gone wrong - it hit at least two targets for that same 66 million, but claimed 0 in the notification.

We just gave up on Vyemm after two pulls. With 21 targets everyone got hit for around 2 mill focus damage.
On the 2nd pull "Fanning the flames" hit 0 targets and people got hit for 60 mill focus damage.

These issues should be fixed in an update tomorrow morning (Thursday Feb 13th)

Why not just remove it and be done with it? I mean it was pretty well tuned at launch imho. A couple of the mobs were already 1 shotting people in mystical gear. So im not understanding the logic of adding abilities in the first place. So now we just have an even more annoying zone that nobody wants to go do, and that's a shame. Also when and if really good players can clear raid zones with less then full raids, that should be a reward for understanding the game and being good. Dont ya think?

From tomorrows patch notes...."Fanning the Flames should no longer hit quite as hard when hitting 24 players." .. So if you dont have 24 people in raid ...its still gonna one shot everybody?

Just adding, I believe our templar was throwing up Divine Aura, I've pulled out those I saw off hand being protected. I believe I was out of Aislia's range. as well as the others in the mt group.

At any rate, we had a 24 person raid, it reported 22 of 24 were hit, but the count was also off. Hope that helps.

I thought it was a fun DPS check.

0 people got the debuff, after the patch that was supposed to make the spell irresistable (new Zone timer)
resulting in 22 people getting hit for 50Mil something damage.
also
22 people got hit for 2-5 mil with the debuff spread properly.

on a wild guess i would say, you set the flag on the damage portion of the spell to bypass resists and we AE prevented the debuff.

also when you say you fix this, do we need to reset the zone to get the fix?

You should not have to reset the zone to see these changes. *crosses fingers*

Can you tell us what's *supposed* to happen with ~12 people, ie, what the intent is? Is this new mechnaic supposed to be a hard stop for smaller groups, just incredibly difficult, or just something that require extra healing?

I know you want to stomp groups of 6. But how do you feel about 12s and 18s?

@ 12 players it becomes damage you have to deal with. Anything below that it becomes death.

So no more 1 shotting 24 people? Spent hours last night with no success.

btw we went in with three groups this afternoon and it seems to be working as intended now - most players were taking roughly 50% damage which was nice, gave the healers something to do.

edit: and yes, zone was a pre-existing instance, didn't need to reset.
