Sony Online Entertainment, LLC (SOE) today announced the launch of EverQuest®II: Tears of Veeshan™, the 10th expansion for the hit massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). The Tears of Veeshan expansion features engaging new content, including a compelling storyline to experience, a new overland realm to explore, massive dungeons, dragon-themed Alternative Advancements (AAs), the new Channeler class, and a host of challenging quests and items.

EverQuest II will reach a variety of major milestones over the next year, from today’s 10th expansion launch of Tears of Veeshan, through next year’s 10th anniversary celebration,” said Holly Longdale, Sr. Producer, EverQuest II. “Our team remains as dedicated today as it was during EQII’s initial launch. This expansion carries on our tradition of delivering rich features and content… only this time we’ve filled the skies with an army of everyone’s favorite winged beasts!”

EverQuest II: Tears of Veeshan is set amongst the Eternal Broodlands, resting place of the dragon dead. Here, players will rediscover familiar fallen dragons, including Yelinak (now the keeper of the Vesspyr Isles), and learn of Kerafyrm the Awakened’s quest to rule all. Using his stolen Tear of Veeshan, Kerafyrm’s fearsome power now threatens Norrath. Players are called upon to fight the Awakened’s draconic army, shine light into the world’s looming darkness, and set the tone for a new Age’s beginning.

EverQuest II: Tears of Veeshan content and features include:

Overland Dragon Realm – Venture through Vesspyr, the Eternal Broodlands, while seeking quests, collections, and more!

Variety of Quests – Signature, story, tradeskill, point-of-interest and dropped quests, missions and collections.

New Dungeons (9) – Experience unique local stories across new dungeons, including Temple of Veeshan (3), High Keep (2), Nexus Core, Chamber of Stasis, Stratum of the Protectors, and the Fractured Hive.

Dragon-Themed Alternate Advancements (AAs) – A new line of AAs (healer, warrior, mage, and scout) dedicated to iconic dragons.

New Channeler Class – Wield your bow while taking advantage of this new Priest class’s “dissonance” energy, intercept healing mechanics, and Construct pets.

Additional Features and Content – New itemization focused on flexibility and play style choices, AA limit raised to 340, tradeskill apprentice items, and a new PvP item tier.

EverQuest II: Tears of Veeshan is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with the content descriptors for suggestive themes and the use of alcohol and violence. Tears of Veeshan is available for $39.99 USD. The Collector’s Edition, which includes several in-game bonus items, is available for $89.99 USD. EverQuest II is a Free to Play. Your Way™ title for PC systems via digital download in North America from SOE or any of its digital partners.

More interested in "Levels " how about adding 50/100 or more levels instead of achievement points per expansion, while in theory mercenaries sound like a good idea none have performed as anyone would have expected and I already over payed for them by purchasing age of discovery, achievement points are a total annoyance as every time you log in they are reset and you get stuck with a few months of reconfiguring them all or using server side aa which doesn't work and isn't any fun at all to play with

If you don't like it then don't buy it. Simple as that. It's your fault not theirs.

Holy troll haven what is your problem?

Why is there not a new slot for the new characters? We pay good money to play this game and it should of come with the expansion. That is just not right. Most of us have all our slots used because you don't have that many to make the characters for all the trade skilling. You SHOULD at least give an extra slot, like I said, because of the fact that we pay good money for this game. That is my opinion on this subject. I am a little pissed about this. Most games add an addition slot for the new character coming out.
Not sure how others feel. But I would be interested in what other have to say.[/quote]

The CE Painting: Tears of Veeshan (or Tapestry: Tears of Veeshan as it calls itself in game) can't decide how it should be hung. It really needs some help and is not easy to hang.

Personally I think the EQ2 staff did a wonderful job at releasing the expansion on time with what little staff they had. If you want another character slot, why not support the game and buy one off the station cash? They don't have to give a free slot.

Personally, I agree, that we should have been given another slot with the new class.

I do support the game and have for almost 10 yrs, (I have just a few mnths to go before I main char will roll 10 yrs)
I pay monthly to play. I also supported for yrs by playing EQ1 and paying. And as far as sc goes to buy another slot, as I said, I pay for the game monthly so why should I have to pay to get another slot?
Just my personal opinion, is all.

Because adding levels is a ridiculously huge amount of effort by the EQ2 team, basically 6 months of nonstop work, for very little benefit to players.

If your AAs reset every time you login, this sounds like a bug/issue you should be reporting.

In what way do server side AA not work?

I agree with Scalette, we should get another character slot with the expansion, or better yet, make it so characters can have more than one main trade skill.

I'm curious why is the new Channeler class not available as a Heroic Character or Heroic Character upgrade? I would have thought Sony would have thought of that. I know that in order for Sony to continue with EQ2 it has to generate money as well. I would think of this as a very big way to generate money by allowing the Channeler to either be purchased or upgraded through the Heroic Line.

There was a conscious decision not to make the Channeler available at it's launch. This will ensure everyone has an opportunity to experience the full spectrum of this class and it could become available as a Heroic at a later time.

Actually, thank you! It's reassuring to see that SOE hasn't abandoned us 1-84 types. :)

We cant get the expansion via the official site since yesterday, is there any fix 16h later?

We have posted in some threads and on facebook but NO SOE member has answered yet, i think you need money from us?

I would gently suggest that all soe members are busy trying to manage the launch and all glitches therein. Launch day on any mmo is rife with glitches, server hiccups, and crashes. Have you submitted a formal error/complaint message to soe? I can't imagine the proper people are surfing Facebook and here, nor could they easily track you down if they were. I'm sure you're frustrated, so submit a complaint via official channels, that's the fastest way to get a reply. Good luck and hope to see you in game soon.
