Tears of Veeshan Open Beta

Log in to the Beta server and you could be seeing and testing the new expansion before it launches!

Open Beta for EverQuest II: Tears of Veeshan will open tomorrow, on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. This is a great chance for players to check out the new Channeler class and new dragon-themed Alternative Advancement (AA) systems for each archetype. We’d love your feedback on these features, as well as other parts of the expansion! Beta will last until the launch of Tears of Veeshan on Tuesday, November 12, 2013!

How to copy your Live and/or Test character over to the Beta server:

• You can click the 'Beta Copy' button on the character create screen to copy the currently selected character.
• You can log in your character and then use the /beta command.

To patch and get into the Beta servers:

• Start your live launchpad
• In the top-left corner, click the 'Version' link which will open the 'Select Game Version' panel
• In the drop-down you can choose 'Beta' then hit 'Apply' to patch the corresponding server
• Hit 'Play' once the patching completes

Notes:

• Beta installs into a subfolder that requires about the same amount of space your live install takes.
• Remember to set the 'Version' back to your regular setting to get back onto your normal servers.
• The Beta server may not be accessible at all times.
• This server is wiped periodically, meaning beta characters may be deleted with or without notice.

i know that itll take a few to dl the beta cleint will we be able to down after seeing this post or do we have to wait unitl a certian time on the 15th

Are the servers going down at 7am PST as usual with update for Launchpad to add beta server choice?

All you need to do is begin the installation (to create the folder), cancel it and close the launchpad, then copy the contents of your EQ2 folder into the new beta folder. Open the launchpad again, wait for it to download, then verify the installation. This should make it so that you only need to download the files that are added / changed by the beta. It will be much, much faster.

I'm curious to see the Guardian changes and if the dungeon finder will actually work well!

Did soe forget to flip the switch for open beta?

well its not on the patcher so.. i guess maybe in 30 minutes

Its like 5am SoE time (PST), so doubt Beta will open just yet till later today. Its not like a normal patch where it affects live servers.

mh but 5am PST is 14 pm in germany ... i dont see anything like beta .. SOE is out of time

They usually open it extremely early, I guess since there is only 2 devs left they can't

I went to instal the bata followed the instructions but beta was not on the list of versions.

it's because it's not open yet

I was thinking after the live patch that beta would be up. But I guess not so I will check back in a few hours

but they are don't utilize your time, so no they are not "out of time"
