You couldn't communicate normally as a monster, BUT you could jump while you were a monster I remember using that to find and "communicate" with other players. Weren't player monsters +pvp with each other? I remember trying to act like a normal npc when I got a cool caster goblin in runnyeye because I wanted to keep it. But no one ever goes to runnyeye, so it was pointless. It must have been terrible to be a newbie on test during that. Moss snakes sneaking up on you during a fight and circle strafing to stay on your back the whole time. And higher level monsters from the other side of the zone patrolling the low level areas. Project M was an amazingly fun experiment. An orgy of death and griefing that would ruin the game. Truly too beautiful to live.
