Yendar Starpyre

Please immediately fix this: Make Yendar Starpyre respawn immediately after a turn in like Vilinus the Small.

Or encrypt your packets server side so cheaters stop keeping this camp permanently locked down.

This can be done in the next patch, please make it so.

If you made Yendar respawn immediately, then the ones camping him will just double down on it. What the devs should do is just remove the SMR from his loot table or make him a non-killable NPC. The only downside to it is that (and I am not sure how this works on Teek) the mob that drops the SMR is probably on lockdown as well, possibly by the same person.

Literally nobody is killing Yendar for his robes. He's used to spawn Renux Herkanor for the rogue epic. Since people can just use map hacks to know where he'll spawn, he's never up long enough for more than one person to do the epic turn in at a time. This is known as a bottleneck: "A point of congestion in a production system that prevents it from operating at full speed."

Game developers use these in lieu of creativity or budget.

    1. Make Yendar no-agro.
    2. Let a Rogue turn in Silversilk leggings to Yendar for an SMR.

Its the same boxers every evening stealing the spawn. Only one person can do a turn in every 4 and a half hours. On the largest server in EQ history. The spawn point is supposed to be random but they just use map hacks to know where he's going to spawn and stand on it. Either let him respawn a few seconds after a turn in so multiple people can do a turn in, or encrypt packets so people can't use map hacks any more.

As a rogue who has done the epic a couple of times on different rogues, I am well aware of Yendar's role in the epics. And you'd be kidding yourself if you think no one kills Yendar for the SMR. It is a guaranteed drop off of Yendar. That is how I got my SMRs instead of going into LGuk to camp it. So, yeah, while people may not be lining up to off the poor gnome, it has, does, and will continue to happen, and is an interruption to finding him up. This part can be resolved by making Yendar stop dropping the SMR or making him an NPC that can't be attacked.

Also, not everyone who gets to Yendar for turn in are using map hacks. Most, I would imagine, are using a friend with tracking, and it is just a matter of seeing who gets there first.

Yendar used to be the only major bottleneck in the Rogue 1.0 epic, but DPG decided to introduce more by requiring the camping of the 4 robes and 4 weapons for the two daggers instead of letting them still have a chance (never guaranteed) to drop off of Renux and the General.

Having Yendar respawn in a quicker time would be great, but then you'd have to give some love to the other classes that have epic NPCs that are kept on "cooldown" as well with long respawn timers. This bottleneck has been there since epics went live. The thing you should be upset about is the change to the daggers.

Marl Kastane called. Where do I sign?
Agree its a terrible change but no need to hold other changes hostage over it.

I hope that I didn't come across this way, I am always for improvements to the game to make it more enjoyable. I mean, I can certainly understand the OP's frustration, and adjusting the spawn timer on Yendar would be great, but I don't think this will happen.
