1) Again, why would sellers move to a new auction channel? They would just spam both the auction and general channels. 2) Daybreak has not shown much interest in enforcing rules. (That might be a slight understatement.)
Why not create a channel that is designed for the buying and selling of items? What is wrong with doing that? They already have the ability to add these channels so it isn't like it would be a lot of work, I fail to see any reason not to add it.
It would create more spam as now you'd have people spamming the WTS in 2 channels instead of just one.
Some sellers would not, they'd likely spam us as they do now. It'd be cool if darkpaw would shut them up so we don't have to avoid joining general channels. I don't join general because it's all spam.
It would not create more spam as you already have people spamming multiple channels and you would have some who would restrict their activity to the new auction channel.
That only works in the zone you are and it provides little value when you are trying to sell to the entire server.
You could use the /auction in a populated place where players wanting to buy/sell items could congregate like the old Commonlands tunnel or maybe even the Bazaar.
Sure if you are in a populated zone but depending on what you are doing that still leaves a lot of the time when you can't do it. And there isn't a common place that players congregate in order to buy and sell items unlike the old days.
I'm guessing you didnt start playing in the early 2000's, thats all the chat channels were used for ever
Believing people would use an auction channel and not just general is like believing Smurfs don’t lay eggs.
There are some that would use it and some that would not however just because some people will not use it doesn’t mean that it isn’t something that shouldn’t be added to the list of existing general channels that they have.
