Worth returning or to far behind?

So I've been contemplating returning to EQ for a few months now. I have a level 100 Shadow knight with some 10k or so AA's. He's top end raid geared for when level 100 first hit. Is it worth coming back or is he way to far behind? I havent kept up with the changes in the game over the past year or so and I have no clue what this daybreak games is lol. Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.

Very easy to catch up, and SKs are better now than they have been for many years with changes to knights both offensively and defensively.

Are the servers still populated? I believe my chars are on erollasi Marr however you spell it.

No some server have low populations E-Marr and Drinal the two worst IMO , and both have only one real raid guild , Bristlebane and Xegony have high populations and have 4 and 3 raid guild each ..

I see so not really worth returning to that server then. They still charging 25-50 bucks for the server transfers?

Sure, it's worth coming back, and probably a good time too. If you come back and play regularly you'll have enough time to get to 105 and get in somewhat fighting shape before EoK hits on Nov 16th, and then you can join the rest of us in progressing through it. If you don't get TBM group gear because release, and because you're a tank you'll be a little worse off and have trouble if you're asked to tank in groups, but once you start getting geared you'll be able to catch up.

Depending on how you slice it it's always a good time to come back. If you are wanting to get to end game raiding your about 7 k aa behind being maxed ATM. Once EoK goes live you will be about another 10 K from max. If your coming back with the intent of playing regularly you'll be caught up pretty quckly as far as grinding goes. The XP earned in CotF doing Heroic missions is good and there is a lot of relevant content to do that will yield useful stuff. Lv 100 raid gear won't be good enough to keep you alive on raids as a tank. Pretty easy to gear up in The Broken Mirrior Exspansion useing alt currency to buy group gear that will keep you alive all be it not a "great" tank.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll have to dust the keyboard off and start the install.

Worth returning or too far behind?

I think you should evaluate the reason(s) you left in the first place...

EQ is more demanding than many other MMOs out there. And most definitely more demanding than your average computer game, like Fallout4. If you left for 'detrimental' reasoning as a recourse of EQ, then I highly suggest you give another game a chance, as there are a plethora of games nowadays!

I started again after a decade-long hiatus, and I tried EQ2 first. I loved EQ2 but you needed to subscribe after a certain point and I wasn't ready for that. You might want to try that.

I often quit and return a Long time later. and as odd as it sounds: it is the best part , as the game world is full of wonder and aventure again.

At one Point i was ... think 20 Levels behind and it was no Problem at all.
Eq is always good for a return romp. You can even have lots of fun with ftp when you are gear creative and dont rush for the best exp/kill reward.

You can also keep your eye on the forums and hopefully at some point we will get server mergers.

Yeah I take a break once in a while this one just turned out to be longer than usual. Got caught up in Division and destiny. As for the FTP I don't like it because all of my chars are way over the maximum aa count without spending money. It'd be way easier to just sub. I installed last night and plan to sub tonight after work. Logged in chatTed with a few people and it seems like theirs quite a few who play during my play time still on e-Marr

I left back in PoP, and came back during the CoTF era. and my main character that is raid geared, max level, max AA, and has completed nearly every quest, mission, and raid in current content (TBM). My play time is around 15 hours a week which for EQ is fairly casual.

Lots of things I still don't have that people who have been playing the same character for 15 years do have, but they have made leveling, and gearing up Much easier than it ever was before.

And for many top level and not so top level EQ has readily become a social game if not social meetup as well.

I see lots of people that do more talking than playing. A thought that I had and came back to make.

As a returning SK to Ero server I would like to extend a warm Welcome Back! The server population is definitely lower than it used to be, but it is not far off from others. I would recommend playing on Ero until you get back into the swing of things.
Raid guilds; yes there are more than just one, however, the others with one exception will co-raid. You are in luck though! Band of Minions is a newer guild reformed from the ashes of an old one. We are going to begin raiding next week and would like to expand our ranks with veterans. Please inquire over Gen chat for an opportunity to begin anew with a guild that is also beginning anew!

Nice to see ya again Danks. I actually created my very first ever toon on Tallon Zek back in the day. Used to get chased around by Pandemonium all the time. I don't think id ever go back to those days lol.

If you have DBC or DayBreak Cash saved you can do it for not out of pocket money ....
