Wizard raid rotations.

    My damage output has significantly improved over the last few months however, I'm still far behind what people claims wizard should do in a raid encounter, mostly on burns:

    on those 60-sec burn I can only manage 140-150k ish dps, while lots of wizard claims to go over 200k and I have no idea where that extra 50k dps comes from... it should be pretty obvious, but I don't see it.

    My rotation on burns revolve around ethereal.. fire-weave-fire-ice-fire-etc while using force of will-fire-ice during the global cooldown.

    My CDs : twincast ( spell / imp. twincast), prolonged destruction, second spire, fury of ro + kerafyrm, and robe clicky ( + a ranger auspice).

    I usually have a bard in group ( singing Gosik, protan and va'ker) and an enchanter ( boxed, using twincast aura + mana reverb... he should be switching to amplifying aura during burns but since he's a box... the guy is usually busy elsewhere).

    Funeral dirge- ethereal manipulation should be up on mob

    I do not have a druid.
    I do not have T3 raid focus ( currently T2 fire focus and T1 frost focus)
    I do not have 6th year vet AA
    9050 AAs.. so everything maxed.

    What am I doing wrong? is Black wolf that big? Glyph of cataclysm?

    Also, what would be your second and third burns?

    2nd usually include arcane destruction + auspice + illusion of grandeur + enchanter 2nd spire.

    3rd burn would include: bard fierce eye, spire, glyph ( or auspice) ( weak one)

    I am well behind you myself just started to raid and have no raid gear or any Rk2 spell yet..
    I dont even know what my burn is - probley is very poor. i keep hitting PD on the 1st burn insteed of 2nd spire. lol i hope to fix that soon myself.

    have you joined the wiz site- their a post on it about what spells for 1st burn 2nd burn ect.

    Phase1 (90 seconds):
    Wizard:
    Silent Casting
    Focus of Arcanum
    Fury of Kerafyrm / Fury of Ro (If the fight lasts >8 minutes save Ro for after Kerafyrm)
    Second Spire (250% crit damage)
    Glyph of Courage (15% crit chance)
    Spell Twincast*
    Improved Twincast (16 spells)

    Phase 2 (90 seconds):
    Wizard:
    Arcane Destruction (+40% crit chance, 16 spells)

    Phase 3 (240 seconds)
    Wizard:
    Prolonged Destruction*** (+49% crit chance)
    Spell Twincast****

    That exact page has been my bible for a little while... been a while since I read it, had to be reminded about stackability issues...

    but still , I don't get how those 230k parses happens.

    Edit: going trough my old words document I found out what ''correction'' i made in that list ( glyph of courage dont stack with auspice on the first burn).

    1st burn: prolonged destruction + 2nd spire + auspice ( 100% crit, 250% crit damage).
    2nd burn: arcane destruction + illusions of grandeur + auspice ( 100% crit, 250% crit damage).
    3rd burn: Fierce eye, bard epic, druid black wolf + enchanter 3rd spire ( 75% crit, 200% crit damage... with another auspice mixed in we'd reach the 100% crit once again, with a glyph of destruction we'd reach the 250% crit damage again*).

    * not sure if glyph of destruction got the same stackability issues as courage. I assume so.

    use spell twincast- imp twincast during the first 2 burns.

    the 4th burn would be available for people with intensity of the resolute but.. meh. I don't really see any fight requiring 4 different phases of burn ( real burn.. not ah '' meh, this is taking too long, hurry up people'' kind of burn)
