[Wizard] CoTF BP Effect Discussion Thread

Seems like the item Dev, Chandrok, is asking peeps for ideas and input on class specific BPs that will be introduced with the next release of CoTF. Clerics and Rangers already have a post talking about possible ideas for their BPs.

For Wizards, I am hoping for something that is 'burst DPS' related. If an idea seems too powerful, just increase the recast time on the effect. I'm not suggesting making Wizards OP or gods, just stuff to help us 'blow things up'

My personal suggestions for the activated click:

1) Clicky Nuke of Ethereal Weave. (Spell ID 35896) Instant cast. 10 minute reuse. Does not gray out spell version.
2) Clicky Twincast effect with 8 spell counters. 10 minute reuse.
3) Clicky Nuke of our level 99 Rain spell (Spell ID 35848) Instant cast. 30 second recast. Does not gray out spell version
4) Clicky Triplecast effect. 1 spell counter. 12 minute reuse. Wizard emotes "You shall not pass!"

My personal suggestions for the focus effect
1) Increase Ethereal Incandescence 80% minimum to 120% maximum.

I got nothing else for the focus effect... I kind of like having big fire booms.

I like Yinla suggestion.

1) Won't happen. He wants the damage spread out over time a bit, a single nuke won't do that.
2) Probably won't happen. It would only be 2-3 counters if he did do it, and that wouldn't take enough time.

4) Triplecast doesn't exist in code, he can't do it.

1) Meh, the focus is extremely poor as it is, I am trying to get him to change it to a different damage focus effect.

2) This is probably what we will end up with unless someone else comes up with a better idea.

Not sure if it's even possible, but maybe a click to increase the proc chance of arcane fusion.

It couldn't increase the rate of the AA proc, it would have to be a spell version of it, and I don't expect him to do either

Yeah, that's kind of what i figured.

A decent circle of mana proc like the clickies have could be useful, or, always thought wizards should be able to create a group shield / rune that protects their group temporarily

How about a click that gives us a personal version of a lesser version of Mana Reverberation, including it's inherent chance for multiple procs. Something we could use on burns over druid auras and Xmancy lines but would not increase our dps when an enchanter.
