Why is Selos exp so bad?

You would obviously fall under D, then, because if you are a "casual" just here to enjoy it, you would enjoy faster exp.

Here is a post where I personally pointed it out on Feb 12

""Q: What’s the XP rate on Selo?
Earning experience on the Selo server will be noticeably faster than the rate of other progression servers, but not quite as fast as a normal server.

Exp is still going to be slower than live so I find getting to 60 with 24 hours played unlikely.

The section you quoted only addresses the xp at the start of the server's life.

This is obvious when you consider that as of TSS, the xp will be exactly the same as a normal server.

They were deliberately vague until we (I) called them out on it here:

Ya I posted in that one as well multiple times. and Ngreth posted more than once because people still would not believe that slower than live exp in the FAQ meant slower than live exp period
  5. Machentoo Augur

Maybe you missed what I said in the earlier post.

By definition the quote could not mean "slower than live exp period" since ultimately the server reaches "equal to live exp." The only question in dispute was whether the server would continue to be greater than live exp post tss. The quote you linked does not address that question one way or another.
  6. Barton The Mischievous

Yes sorry, slower than live exp until TSS

What if its both specific and vague? "Selo is not a casual server. It is a fast server."

I think the amount of headaches these servers have caused is getting to both the players and the devs. The players do what they do, but some of the dev comments give me the impression that (some) of them are getting irritated and maybe spiteful about all the dissension.

Arnt the Hot zones global? On all servers?
And when did Dungeon bonuses get nerfed?
  9. Undustas Lorekeeper

So I'm a 60 wiz and usually AE in The Deep.

Pulling 60 mobs and then killing them, which is a whole side of the zone be it west camp or main area, it nets about 1.5 AA....

Yup Selos is a fast paced high XP server!!!

Who's ready for these 1,000 AA xpacs?

Wow Classic can't come fast enough.
  10. HoodenShuklak Augur

I did half pulls on the east side before the bonus went back in and was still getting over 1 aa. Lying to dbg isn't going to help you or us, brah.
  11. Undustas Lorekeeper

I am talking pre buff. I also run Gamparse to see how many mobs each pull is. If you're pulling crap pulls like you say there is no way you are getting 1AA a pull pre buff.

Even with the buff 50-60 mobs is around 2.25 AA without a potion. On a 13 minute respawn. So about 7 or 8 AA an hour killing 60 mobs.
    That's not fast.

Wait till the xpacs drop when you need 600 AA Of the 1000 that drop.

Imagine the people who can't AE. How long does it take them to kill 60 mobs at a camp?

I thought this was referring to the player base. For a game that's been out 20 years I'm amazed by the lack of understanding of simple mechanics, social norms, efficiency etc. It's mind blowing.

nobody feels sorry for AoE groups
  14. TheChosenOne Augur

Getting spiteful towards their customers.. lets see how that works out for them long term lol
  15. Undustas Lorekeeper

    Wasnt suggesting anyone feel sorry...

Was showing how many kills it takes to get 1 AA....While also pointing out the speed at which a non aoe group would get 60 kills.

They were not vague at all. The problem was people wanting it to mean something that it didn’t. People were arguing that double Ragefire was faster than Live day 1 (while ignoring that the announcement clearly said slower than live). We have had multiple releases of TLPs at varying exp rates, yet they all got XP bumps at GoD and again at TSS, at which they equaled live XP rates. There was never any reason to believe this server would have rated any higher than live. Devs responded that the XP rates would get the same bumps, merging at live rates, multiple times after server announcement before server launch.

Should XP rates be higher than live? Probably.
Was it clear they wouldn’t be? Yes.
Will you get that changed? Yet to be determined.

They are not. They are disabled on the TLP's until TSS or so, I forget exactly when. And when they go live on the TLP's, it is only up through 15 levels below max. Phinny currently has only the level 1-70 hotzones with a current level 85 cap.

The problem is they said it would be roughly douible that of Ragefire. Period. No qualification that they only meant at the start.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but no one even suggested that it would be only live exp at TSS on any of the many threads discussing the xp rate, until I asked the question specifically. For everyone who now says it was obvious, well, I wonder why you weren't all posting that earlier? (Maybe I missed a post prior to mine, and if so feel free to link it and I'll gladly retract.)

You should have been on Phinigel or Coirnav.

About a year ago, maybe? Check the patch notes if you really want to know.
