Why Epics need to be rebalanced

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. There is really no reason to have mobs in the game that people need to feel the need to do this on, you made MoTM mobs immune to memblur for a reason. You made Phinny in part so people didn't have to pay 18 boxers for Epic parts. Enough is enough fix the damn epics that need it.

So, I don't get it. So, it looks like you and your cleric box are charming and somebody comes along and dispels the charm?

Charm dispelling is one of the few things still in violation of the behavior rules.

is it? because it would be amazingly simple to make charm unable to be dispelled if they felt that way

There is some people that believe they're above those rules.

I sat there for about 5 hours for the third time waiting for VD to spawn, after he spawned i charmed and was the first to engage(pet hted) they waited till Vessel was at about 30% , dispelled my pet and tried to KS. The only reason people feel the need to do this is because of how long the spawn timer is. Luck for me they didn't have enough DPS to beat his regen and reinforcements came and helped me snag the kill. I'm hoping my testimonial will have the dev reconsider their stance on epics, this stuff goes on all the time at BG, VD, VT and in a different way Marl. Simply reducing the spawn timers would fix this problem.

Only if you're griefing or trying to kill the player. If a player has a named or phed charmed and you dispel to kill it's not against ToS from what i understand.

edit: I'm not sure if it's against ToS in a DPS race.

Not to sound mean in stating this, but, welcome to how your guild treats everybody else. I'd offer some sympathy, but I honestly have none for AoS.

He's trying to kill vessel for the enchanter epic and his pet is being chain dispelled. The mob is relatively easy and can be done with small numbers but instead generally entices raid forces because of the escalated contention for such a rare spawn. I've seen enough people in east cab to spawn several picks if only cities allowed it, all but a dozen or so were down in the sewers thumbing themselves waiting for this mob to pop.

This one gets especially bad because there are so many enchanters on the server, the epic isn't as trivially skipped as the SK epic, and the encounter difficulty isn't there like BG and UDB. It's arguably the worst epic for bottlenecking on Phinny.

For reference they didn't even see my chanter only pet and cleirc(not tagged) so i doubt they knew it was me and my guildies don't do this . The previous VD spawn i actually watched Entendre kill it and didn't try this .

Also, there's a big difference between dispelling something you intend to then kill (I believe not regulated) and dispelling something to prevent its being used on something else you intend to kill (against rules and being done here). I could be wrong of course.

Sachee, Skykam, others like them, I can understand. They're good players. They know what they're doing. They choose to be dickholes which is fine.

But Grug, he's just a f'n through and through. Grisvok should have booted his dumb a$$ a long time ago and increase the guild's collective IQ by about 30 points.

Yeah but what about the idiots that come to your camp, charm your named then threaten to report you for spam dispelling "his pet"

Absurd rule, had it happen to me other day. Kept claiming oh I need this named for a pet, and you're interrupting my hunting and killing me by dispelling it. Hopefully when the GM shows up he'll be reasonable when someone charges in and charms your named for a "pet" and dies cause you spam dispel against his spam charm (aggro ftw).

It is unfortunate that that happens but you knew it would (unfortunately) and should have brought other reinforcements imo. It's what like 1.5 day repop, people are gonna do whatever they have to, to get that kill. Next time record video and /report when it happens, at least you can submit that with your petition and most likely something will happen.

Posting a link to an unrelated AOS member dispelling charms in an unrelated zone isn't really contributing anything. GrugSA even clearly stated that there are times he believes it is allowed and didn't really seem salty about the charm so much as the bottleneck and poor sportsmanship around it. Meanwhile I know for certain that AOS officers have taken a stance on dispelling charms. We had a sticky thread related to it, and now a post in the mandatory (must sign that you read and understand) section of rules and policies, stating to not grief other people's charm pets.

The real problem here is the bottleneck and the grief it causes, not the antics that this grief manifests as. It's similar to with VP keys where the problem was the spawn times, not the actual charm gating or FD ogres per se. Even if you pull out a log of AOS members charm dispelling at one of the three enchanter epic bottlenecks (which wouldn't be a shock) it actually only reinforces the original argument that these bottlenecks are a crapshow and need to be worked on.

This log is a real cliffhanger. Who won this epic battle?
