English lacks a you plural. Y'all provides a solution. I support any and all variations of y'all.

You is plural as well.

Yall just makes you sound like someone from the deep south, which, right or wrong is still fair game to mock to most Americans.

In Alabama, I was once addressed when I was by myself with the salutation, "How y'all doing?"

I asked and was told that the proper plural form (in that area) was "all y'all".

No one actually uses you alone as plural though, because it's confusing and ineffective. I'd argue y'all is more elegant than the "you guys" most of the rest of the country uses.
