Why delay between LDON adventure requests?

If letting people pick their LDoNs specifically encourages more people to do Hunter achievements... wouldn't that be the incentive to:

    1. put more hunter achievements in for later eras as this is content more than a few are consuming
    2. put rewards on the achievements because... more than a few people are doing them (maybe #2 needs to happen to help incentivize LDoN)

The concept of having a long shopping list (in this case kill list) through old content is a good idea. They made this list for LDoN, possibly not recognizing that the mission selection mechanics are a significant deterrent to doing the achievements. It's a weird barrier... the named are already rare% spawns, and there is a lot of them, and the content is obsolete very fast on progression with almost no reason to revisit it ever.

so I just looked through the LDoN Hunter Ach and there are no rewards ? why would anyone want to complete that if there is no incentive ?

I mean put in a good i'llusion to get all the hunters completed at least ..

If peeps are doing it just cause they are OCD and need the little ach highlighted blue (completed) they have medicine for that..:p

They have been steadily adding the achievements over the last several years; they just stopped doing it from the newest to the oldest and started doing it from the oldest to the newest. Another few years and they will get pretty much caught up to where they have them for all the expansions.

Yes, the concept is fabulous. The implementation is the issue.

Iconic Fippy got left off the Hunter list because someone decided their arbitrary parameters could not possibly have exceptions but then of course created exceptions and included Hunter mobs with no PH and still hasn't added Fippy.

Hunter of The Ruins of Sebilis reward has to be a Crypt Key, if it needs the xxxx expansion must be unlocked parameter on the reward so be it but this is 2nd only to not including Fippy in terms of obvious oversights in Hunter.

When creating the Hunter achievement for a zone like Swamp of No Hope if the intention is desirable content you need to apply a modicum of intelligence and indent the cycle (optional kills) but then have a kill at least xx mobs in the cycle not indented, you would also remove the 3 day respawn time. Since it's definitely not that the Dev lacks intelligence it means the intention is tedium and not desirable content.

LDoN falls into the same issue as Swamp, completionists might want to check off every indented box but having them kill xxxx named in Arena of Chance is appropriate if the intention is desirable content. LDoN also has the issue of factual error "level 65+ hard difficulty adventures" when it's "level 63-67.9 hard difficulty or level 68+ normal difficulty adventures".

Various named like King Xorbb which was even confirmed by a Dev to have no complex spawn mechanic, it's simply rare and if you want desirable you indent or adjust the spawn chance. All you've done is encourage EULA violating behavior. But if the intention is tedium Long Live the King, add it on to your list of things to do to get a free account Mage and autofire until you get banned as there is no productive way to actively interact with the content.

Garton Viswin in Castle Mistmoore is to me the ideal Hunter mob, out of the way, most likely very rarely killed from the time his drops were no longer relevant until Hunter was implemented, not all that rare if you're actually killing his PH and encourages players to fully explore the zone. That's the fabulous concept, simply making a list of the named in a zone with a vanity reward so no one feels they have to spend the time to kill all the mobs but then they see a cool illusion and ask how they got it and the person tells them Norrathian Slayer.

The current implementation of Hunter ignores EQ's history, fails to use the opportunity to address zone specific issues once content is rarely visited, doesn't apply a basic sanity test to the average time needed to complete a zone and of course has no reward for people who don't care about a Magelo leaderboard.

But it does provide a lot of tedium and reducing that tedium is counter-productive to the entire concept of Hunter. Expecting them to change the LDoN adventure request mechanics to make it easier to complete Hunter is simply absurd. If they made changes to Swamp of No Hope that indicated that tedium wasn't the goal it would then be appropriate to suggest that Arena of Chance has similar issues. If you saw a thread started by a Dev asking for feedback on which mobs are so rare that they should be optional parts of Hunter you would have some indication that pointing out that a group of mobs are collectively really rare could be productive.

I like to take the naive approach of:

I like the hunter achievements and think they could be refined a bit better.

To the OP LDoN specific concerns... yeah, it would be nice if they adjusted that.

To the various points made in the thread... yeah sounds like in some cases they should adjust some things --in the spirit of being reasonably appealing to more players to engage in them.

I've killed Xorbb twice, and every other named in the gorge except Klei... and have at least 2 characters with the related factions maxed. It's brutally rare but then it is tied to a historical Easter egg of a quest that was meant to be a special thing. King Xorbb and mobs like that should probably be on a special hunter list for the more... dedicated, and earn you the title of the Extremist or something.
