[Update] We now understand from sources that those laid off may have been working on a secret game with a top IP (at the Austin studio – now confirmed publicly by Variety). It sounds as if the core MMORPGs are safe.

Shhhhh. Dont tell him that. Let him keep believing the world revolves around him.

So the H1Z1 team is hiring but DBG doesn't bother to offer the laid off people a job there? Amazing.

Just because one part of the company is hiring doesn't mean those laid off meet the criteria for what they're looking for in a role. While your mom may feel differently, hiring is more complicated than, "We have an opening, let's fill it with anybody!"

What a dumb statement. A studio doing game software development gets shut down and another studio at the same company doing game software development is hiring and you think there are no appropriate candidates. It was a tweet from the H1Z1 guy that offered to take applications from those folks. Maybe just don't post.

A tweet. A bloody tweet. So let me get this straight, a dude with zero experience in hiring on the H1Z1 team says they have openings and they want those people laid off, not realizing that maybe, MAAAAAYBE there's a reason those people were let go. Even if those let go were qualified candidates, there's a process to hiring that goes beyond a bloody tweet from a random guy.

Neither of you have any idea what they did or didn't do. Positions could of been offered and accepted. Or they couldn't move to take the new job. Or they just didn't want to. Or pay differences. Or a million other things.
