Why can't I buy items directly in bazaar?

I upgraded my main to ROF/COTF and I am incredibly disappointed in one thing:

I can't buy items directly in bazaar.

Part of the reason for going ROF/COTF was that I was sick of running around the tunnels in baz and mistakenly thought that those days would be over.

Turns out there is a requirement for 2 vouchers which cost 25SC! Now, this is a very fine feature when there is a must get item that you must have on you when you are fighting in some far away zone. However, this is a completely useless feature when you want to buy some mundane items.

So, now I hardly visit bazaar at all and just buy my daily goodies from POK paying the 10% platinum fee to parcel vendor.

Why isn't there a REASONABLE option to get items directly when you are zoned into bazaar? This 25SC fee for direct delivery was mentioned nowhere until obtaining the expansion. Again this fee is fine when you are away from baz, but when you are in baz there should be an option to get items directly.

When you are in the bazaar what's unreasonable about using find vendor and buying direct from the seller? That's how it was done before purchase vouchers. I've never had a problem with that.
    Aanuvane and Broozer like this.

You can buy items directly in the bazaar. You go to the vendor who has the item you want and you purchase it with no additional fees. Hide all vendors and Find vendor are your friends. It's not like running from PoK to Ashengate with no ports.

There are 3 ways to do things, regardless of what zone you're in.

    1. Directly purchase from vendor (you said you hate this one).
    2. Pay the 10% plat fee to have it shipped to a parcel vendor (note, there IS a parcel vendor in the bazaar, not sure you realize that)
    3. Use station cash to purchase additional vouchers (I believe your cost on this is off and there are larger bundles that are cheap). But if you're a paying payer, you get 500 SC a month to spend and you can use this to offset it.

for them to be sent directly to you yes they require SC. However you can have them sent to your parcel for 10% of the cost then retrive them from your parcel when you care to. To do this it is the button on the OTHER side of the window called "send to parcel"

It is sad that the nobles (or at least those who think they are) still go to a shop and expect that their whims will be dealt with by the poor servants. If you can find the bazaar and want to buy some thing, either go to the seller, or as the saying goes, if you have to ask the price of delivery- you can't afford it.
I remember when we had to slog through Griffins in Commonlands to get to the tunnel to buy or sell, and then slog back out again, and hope that folk had what we wanted, or would buy what we had for sale- without us getting killed a time or two in the process.

Crystilla, thank you! I was not aware that there is a parcel guy in bazaar.

I suppose I complain, because while I did not have ROF I would click on Buy buttons while /baz in Bazaar and would be told you must have ROF to use this feature, so I mistakenly thought that buying ROF would solve this.

I guess I am spoiled and rich again(thank you tradeskill items!), it is just that after all these years spent in Commonlands, GFay, old Bazaar, new Bazaar I thought my running days would be over.

For programmers it would mean extra work to single out Bazaar for special treatment and I know EQ is short on those resources.

Also, I suppose the way direct buying is implemented (10% plat fee or 25SC fee) avoids speculators sitting in bazaar and flipping items instantly. Sort of a tax on stock transactions in real life...

FYI buying/selling things in EQ2 has a surcharge. As does WoW. Vanguard did too. They have no direct buy option to avoid these charges. By direct buy I mean buy directly from the seller. Those games have a broker or auctioneeer middle man.

@Fendy: I'm pretty sure that if the seller in EQ2 sets up in their house, you can run to them directly, just as in EQ, and the broker fee is waived.

Ok I haven't tried that. I just buy stuff thru the broker.
