I'd recommend considering two boxing a healer with a tank. Soloing/Moloing is kind of terrible in EQ unless you enjoy monotony. If your goal is to get groups it will be a lot easier to start or get into groups if you advertise, "pal/dru LF DPS" instead of "dru looking for group". If you do that, the possibilities change quite a bit, but all the priests are in a good state right now. Shaman and druid are more fun to play.
i'd recommend any who want to try to box , should start with 3 , having a full group ( 3 players + 3 mercs ) is better than 2 box , and you can even plant a firecamp with 3. could use a bard for your 3rd toon and only have him to sing songs, until you get used to box.
