Probably going to let accounts expire for a while and wait for Luclin. 6 month unlocks is pretty painful pre-bazaar.
Hey, at least your server didn't have to have its time in Velious artificially expanded by broken content (e.g. Vulak on vacation.) Good thing Phinny will be beta testing for us this time.
Not to speak of the hope some crafting recipes will be unlocked thanks to our eager Phinny friends...
It's interesting that we have some people who say that a server locked in Velious would have 9 billion people and be the most popular server in Everquest history and then we see actual evidence (anecdotal, but still evidence) showing that after a bit of time, people are eager to progress past it. If a Velious locked server would be so popular, then people would be here saying how great it is with the 6 month unlock and that the server isn't progressing, and there would still be a ton of people on Phini instead of becoming pretty empty at this point, as we wait for Luclin.
To be fair, there is a very large population of people who already play on a Velious locked server. None of the TLP really attract that crowd because when you start talking about 3 month or 6 month expansion releases it turns a lot of the "classic" crowd off.
Yes, it's called P99 ) I am convinced the mythical aura and happiness around Velious era had to do something with the fact P99 has been in Velious for so long and still being very healthy on the demographic level.
The reason you dont see anything is because its not locked to Velious. It will unlock past it... and those players who do not want that are not playing. Also most players who want to have a locked server that never gets past POP or never makes it to POP... do not play anymore.. they are on P99 servers or just play progression untill the expansion they hate is unlocked then leave.. hence why every porgression server dies off and becomes a ghost town. If they advertised on Facebook and other social media about a classically locked server that never will get a new expansion unlock past a certain point;... you WOULD have tons flock back to the game. Why spend $200+ for a p99 account when you could pay for the real game... at a much cheaper price.
